Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Without spoilering myself on the thread that reminds me how is everybody doing with WestWorld. Planning to save a few up so I can binge them one Sunday.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Most of the reviews are positive however the show can be an 'acquired taste'
It's ambitious and high production level with good acting. If you have seen Ex Machina or if you are into sci-fi then you will most likely enjoy it.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
I wouldn't call it acquired taste. It's not some artsy fartsy Terrence Mallick production. It's an ambitious western sci-fi project with very high production value and it's HBO. You can't go wrong Tom. you'll love it.

Will wait till I hear its really good (if it is).
First two episodes seemed to be slow paced set ups.

How would you know if you haven't seen it?
Episode 2 is not slow paced.

okay put 20 minute effort into reading 1 mans opinion about the show but won't watch the 50 minute episode because apparently someone told him it's slow paced.
And Emma, aren't you one of the biggest fans of The Wire? The Wire is one of the all time slowest paced show there ever is. Specially season 1. It's sets up everything for 8-9 episodes before things start happening.

He never said it's bad man. Slow paced doesn't necessarily mean bad.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
I didn't read shit lol, I heard from a friend who watched both episodes and actually some of the comments here. That's like 5 minutes of my time.
I'm just waiting to be sure the show is great before starting to watch. The Night Of did not live up to my expectations.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Space drama ‘The Expanse’ has been acquired by Netflix. i suppose this is good news for the production team as they'll have more budget for all those CGI stuff.

Watched the first season last year, it was pretty good.

That's only for international audiences though. In North America, SyFy will still air the 2nd season and then Netlflix will have it once it finishes.

Apparently SyFy of all networks got the strangest show since Stranger Things.

Is Stranger Things a suspenseful larger than life thriller, 45.2 mins long, bald man goatee protagonist, agile and fast paced?

Fringe is the closest thing to Lost.
Both created by JJ Abrams.
Amazing show. Have seen it 3 times over. One of my all time favs.
And lol at Urban's recommendation. None of those are similar to Lost.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
I've watched all four seasons of Orange Is The New Black, it has absolutely no similarity with Lost. and Leftovers and Lost are both made by the same director but they're in no way similar to each other.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
I think urban was referring to the flashback life stories of characters which are in both Lost and OITNB. But yea, besides that they couldn't be any more dissimilar.
