Yeah that did happen though, remember George Bush. The reaction to 9/11, started "The war on terror" and started two decade wars. And how did that work out? Terrorist groups stronghold in Afghanistan remains strong, Iraq provided the chaos for the rise of ISIS, and global terrorists have grown in much higher number.
Who are these liberal leaders? I am not sure what liberal means, i know the definition of it and in theory, but in reality i am clueless. Tony Blair? Hilary? or Nobel Peace winner Obama?
The so called "pacifist" Obama moved away from the use of troops in military operations. And concentrated on the use of bombs, year by year that increased and in fact in his last year alone the US dropped 26,171 bombs in majority Muslim countries. That doesn't taken to account the bombs that was dropped by the rest of the UN. These bombs are the image of the west, and are used as recruiting tool.
I notice no one mentioned any strategy to deal with terrorism that dealt with changing our foreign policies. Ultimately that is the root of the problem, to deal with terrorism that must be addressed.

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
How about looking away from Britain and USA and instead at:
The leaders of France, Merkel and her wonderful open door immigration ideas in Germany and those in the likes of Sweden and Belgium. Are you telling me Sweden is a major target for terrorism because of their foreign policies or their hard right wing leaders?
Why are they falling victim to terrorist attacks so regularly? Their leaders don't even want to use the word 'Islam' and are more worried about scoring PC points than actually doing anything yet their citizens are being blown up too.
Funny that, how extremists don't only target the countries under the sort of leaders you mentioned.
Sure, changing foreign policies would help. For starters, leaving them to it in the middle east. Of course it won't happen and i'm not absolving the blame from our politicians but summing up the problems with the middle east and the violence stemming from it and concluding it's happening because of our foriegn policy is just wrong.
Extremist, religious nut jobs that hate the western way of life, who's book tells them it's okay to do X,Y,Z are not born from foriegn policy. Particularly ones that are homegrown I.E most of them.
Why is a homegrown extremist in the UK deciding to take up arms and use a nail bomb to blow up kids at a pop concert? It's not foriegn policy, it's not Bush and it's not Obama.
Until we crack down on not just terrorists, but all associated with terror and those 'dabbling' in the terrorist circles, this will continue to happen. But instead of addressing this people will continue to worry about the reputation of a religion and before even thinking about the real victims they'll take to facebook and the likes to wage a war in the name of being politically correct and cool.

if they lock these scumbags up when they first see the threat they wouldnt need to watch them 24/7. how hard can that be ffs. what is the point in having intelligence agencies if they identify the suspects and do nothing about it. I think we all know why tbh.

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
Completely agree with Blue, He got it spot on. Terrorism's main desire is to create a divide between common men and then conquer. Why do you think an ideolgy like ISIS has its roots in Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Nigeria and Syria? They can wait to wage wars and we must stop them before the middle east goes to shite.
They seem to be dividing us really very well already though. You can stop refugees, immigration etc but its not going to slow down nothing, All of our countries are already infected inb4PolandandAmericanSamoa. Its how we stick together and fight this madness together.

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
Police have made "significant arrests and finds" in their inquiry into the Manchester Arena bombing, according to the UK's top counter-terrorism officer.
Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said they had "got hold of a large part" of the terror network they believe bomber Salman Abedi was part of.
"Immense" progress has been made, he added, but more arrests were likely.

that is great news but don't you think the laws needs to be changed so these people can be put away as soon as they show signs of doing something like this.RealGunner wrote:Police have made "significant arrests and finds" in their inquiry into the Manchester Arena bombing, according to the UK's top counter-terrorism officer.

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
The BBC's Nick Quraishi at the scene says he is now able to corroborate earlier reports of gunshots being fired.
Reports suggest it may have been more than one incident:
- A van hitting people at London Bridge and three people then jumping out of the vehicle and attacking members of the public;
- A separate incident at Borough Market
- Police have now said they are responding to a third incident in Vauxhall
It is understood that police are looking for three suspects who may be armed.

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
I will tell you what I do know. I know that the police and government have turned a blind eye to shit like this from known suspects for years because they are so scared of the race card. people are being killed and young girls are being raped because the government are a bunch of pussies. how can you fight the enemy if you don't even have the balls to admit who the enemy are. there is no point talking about what party is in power because all partys are the same spineless pussies as the rest.RealGunner wrote:You do know that we have been under conservative government since 2010 right?

Keep the conversation respectful, it's fine to have unpopular opinions, it's not fine to take the chance to attack fellow users
If this devolves into the previous s***show we will lock this again and evaluate whether this subject should be permitted at all here[/mod]
