Another clue as why Messi is not earning 56 milion gross: From his tax evasion case, his salary was leaked, and in 2008/09 and 2009/2010, when he already was the world's best player, he was earning around 10 milion gross.

I know, and most of the times journalists report conflicting salaries on the matter. After several years of trying to put ligt into these, and especially after Messi's tax evasion that allowed to calculate his gross salary, most of the time the correct is to assume they are talking about gross salaries.

England and Germany report salaries in GROSS.

Seriously hard to believe Messi was earning 10m gross in 09-10,back when Ibra was earning a 10m NET salary at Inter before his switch to Barca.

Check page 227 of the memory (229 of the PDF) where it details exactly the salaries for the first team players and coaches please.

Problem is that Neymar and Suarez have reported salaries of more than 10 milion, if it's net like you say, there are only left 40 milion for 20 other footballers and all the coaches, including players like Iniesta, Busquets, etc.

Check the accounts I posted, it's spanish, you'll understand it. First team wage bill it's just 138 milion + 81 milion in bonuses for the treble (last season).
You get to that 300+ wage bill adding all Barça sections (basketball, handball, futsal, hockey), youth teams and non sporting wages.

He pretends as if boni are not part of wages, and as if Barca only paid 80m boni because they won the CL.

Don't think Neymar is earning 15m net yet. He will after he extends (probably more).

I do believe it's thinkable Messi is receiving something like 20% to a quarter of all Barca player's wages, absolutely.

According to Forbes's Top Earning Athletes list of 2015, Messi's salary was $51m (gross) plus endorsements somewhere above $20m. http://www.forbes.com/athletes/list/#tab:overall

I don't remember how they do image rights in Spain? Income from those is probably included in that $51m figure. But I suppose it's impossible to trust any source completely, the earnings of these top atheletes can be pretty complicated how they're formed.
