Rodgers taking credit for all the good signings and throwing the 'committee' under the bus for all the shitty signings the other day on MNF.

name me one team in history that has ever won a lge title that didn't have a better keeper than mig. and I ask this question because I assume you are hoping Liverpool chalange for a title in the next 5 years.Red Alert wrote:Curtinho wrote:I hate United and I can give credit where credit is due. Without De Gea we'd likely have won both of our last meetings. He's a world class player and yet somehow still, after the United game and seeing what having a great keeper can do for a team (again) they opted to sign Mignolet to an extension.
What the hell is going on with our management.
See I can understand when he *bleep* up. But what the *bleep*.
FOUR PLAYERS challenged Fellani. FOUR. They lost out. Leaving Rooney unmarked in the 6 yard box. That goal was unsaveable for any keeper.
Then again, muppets will always be muppets so keep bitching my old son.

Joe Hart isn't world-class but he's good enough for a title-winning team. Therefore Mignolet is, too.
We're not even conceding an awful number of goals, it's our attack that doesn't click.

Agree with Morte. Mignolet is not world class, but he is good enough for Liverpool.
Doesn't make a lot of glaring mistakes. For the most part he has been a good goalkeeper to the PL ranks.

Joe hart may not be WC but unlike Mignolet , the team still feel secure with him behind the goals. Mignolet is not that bad but having a great GK give a lot of confidence, like at Arsenal.

Yep for a team like Liverpool, Mignolet is about right tbh.
Spurs are slightly punching above their weight with Hugo but that's about it.

I feel Joe Hart is really underrated here. He is certainly among the best keepers in PL and far better than Mignolet. He is arguably a top 10 keeper in Europe too.

Dortmund 2011 and 2012 with Roman Weidenfeller (who even got the nickname "Weidenfehler" that is, "Weiden-blunder" during that time)? Stuttgart 2007 with Timo Hildebrand? Or Kaiserslautern 1998 and Werder Bremen 2004 both with Andreas Reinke?Unique wrote:name me one team in history that has ever won a lge title that didn't have a better keeper than mig. and I ask this question because I assume you are hoping Liverpool chalange for a title in the next 5 years.

No goalkeeper has made more errors leading to goals than Mignolet, since he joined Liverpool. ( 8 )
Since he moved to Liverpool, only Aston Villa's Brad Guzan and Newcastle's Tim Krul - both fighting at the opposite end of the table - have conceded more goals.
On average, over the past three seasons, the Liverpool goalkeeper has saved 67.6 per cent of the shots fired at him. That puts him 18th out of 31 goalkeepers who have made more than 20 Premier League appearances since his Liverpool move.
Mignolet is the only 'keeper who has opted to punch the ball clear more times than he has successfully caught it from a cross (79), since the start of the 2013/14 season.
Good enough for 5 more years anyway.

He is not good enough for a team that aspires to finish in top 4. Simple as that.
Sure, it could be argued that he is being made the scapegoat, but he isn't genuinely good enough in the first place.

Lmao at Mignolet not making glaring errors.
These statistics only confirms what we see with eyes.

Beautiful goal from Allen. Allen and Smith link up and Benteke is involved too. All three should have been starting against United and Arsenal and I've been calling for it for weeks.
