If you still have problems with racism, it's pretty obvious what would happen.
Unfortunately, most of the world is a big, huge homophobe.
Who is this directed at??
Sexuality is a big part of who you are, and constantly living in a lie is not what I'd call enjoyable. If you wanna hook up with guys, you can't. If you wanna do things that might not be considered "manly", you can't (although Ronaldo does it ). The cultural pressure against gays is bad enough, but I imagine it must be worse being a star constantly under the spotlight and your life dissected daily by the media.
It would be good for someone important to come and and say "yeah, I'm gay. So what?". I'm sure plenty would follow.
I didn't mean for it to come out in a negative way. I was just saying people shouldn't be too concerned with another's sexuality. That isn't why I watch football or keep track of players.

However, it is also true that gay men are less interested in football, and I'm pretty sure they are underrepresented in professional football, but sure there are more than 0.
Eh, probably not so accepted in Spain. Germany, Netherlands, other North-European countries that are not the UK, USA: I can see it. Not because these countries are necessarily less homophobic (come on, US), but because I think football culture is less immersed with the whole machismo element there.

Why?
Op: I have no intresst in who/what players do in their spare time.
I understand you may not have any interest though a player like fashanu's career was destroyed based on rumours that he was gay. So I'm pretty sure that people do care. It wasn't his footballing ability but his private life that brought him down.

Maybe. But Spain is one of the countries more liberal to gays in the world. Not only gay marriage is legal, but also most of the prime-time gossip shows are conducted by gay men.

I don't really have any statistical data to confirm that or anything, it's just an impression based on acquaintances that are gay and none of them like football.

Re: Homosexuals in football...
In men-only groups there's always a lot of joking about women and sex and some gay jokes, too. Much of this culture would become akward if homosexuals were to make their sexuality known within the group (unless there's a rather big number of them in the group).
I'm not saying they shouldn't be able to freely express their sexuality, but I think we all know the above statement to be a fact.

I expect neg reps and even worse for what i'm about state here, nonetheless i'm stating and i don't care about the response.
Football and the world at large would have been better without gay people, simply they don't belong in this world.

Re: Homosexuals in football...
Luciano Moggi, who was at the helm of Juventus, delivered his rant on the programme KlausCondico.
The 70-year-old - who has been embroiled in an allegedcorruption scandal - said:
"There are no gays in football.
"I don't know if players are against having them in their team but I definitely am.
"In the teams where I worked there were never any. I never wanted to have a homosexual player and I still wouldn't sign one.
"I'm old school but I know the ambience of football and a gay wouldn't be able to survive within it.
"A homosexual cannot do the job of a footballer. The football world is not designed for them, it's a special atmosphere, one in which you stand naked under the showers."
There are no openly gay footballers in any of the major European leagues.
The only reasonably well known player to have come out while playing was Justin Fashanu, in England in the 1980s.
Rumours are abound about many players in internet chat rooms but still the subject remains something of a taboo in football.
Former Argentina coach Daniel Passarella was quoted by Argentine newspapers before the 1998 World Cup as saying that he did not want gays or long haired players on his team.
Last year, the country hosted the 'gay World Cup'.
Not necessarily my views, just adding to the conversation is all.
