80s vs 90s vs 00s - Best Football Era

If I could divide between late 90s and early 00s, that would be my favorite period of football.

IMO, 00s wins, not because we witnessed most of this period but so many records have been broken.

Given that not alot of people here (including me) saw much football in the 80's and the mid to late 00's have been mostly dominated by a few select teams, the late 90's/early 00's were the best

Because we've got til the end of time to break those records
But that means the teams and players in 100 years time will be getting freaky records

I only started watching football in the Early 2000's so yeah,its definitely the best period of football for me as well.. Very Happy

Also all of those who were around to watch 80's football in its entirety will probably say the 80's

I think this comes down to the "that stuff has passed us, so it was better" theory
e.g. Today's footballers are crap, all the best players have retired

Even when the most asshole-ish of people die, others look back at them like they were a saint

Ve seen only 99' from 90s, but people say that 90s had better stars. Anyway 10s with RM/Barca are looking to be extremely boring

R10 wasn't in his peak then though but it really had great players like Rivaldo and Batistuta.

you cant be objective about this coz we're all gonna vote for the football we grew up watching. To me the era of Zidan, Ronaldo and Baggio was magical but so was my early experience with everything as i was growing up so i cant really say this football was better without including my own feelings

to me WC 2002 was the begining of the end, except maybe for a few moments of magic from Ronaldinho and Adriano when he was sane

Here's a thread when wiggles would have been good at. Most people here are only old enough to truly remember the 00s. In the 90s I remember World Cups, some CL games and a few club matches.

Mid 90's to early 00's for football in general.

For my team, early 80's, but I wasn't around to witness those so I've had to rely on old videotapes and documentaries.
