We all know how much they hate shopping for CBs so this could give them a load off for 10 years even if its a big fee now lol.

Agreed. This is pretty much my argument for signing Chadli btw, knows he is not on par with MSN, is a hard worker, can play on both wings, gets a decent amount of goals all things considered, great personality. We need to get in now that he is no longer a starter for Spurs with Son's signing.

Someone like that would take some thought, some intelligence and some bravery on our part. We would have identify a guy (in this case Chadli) who isnt even a star at a considerably lower club and can come and play for us and excel. Its what the clubs like Porto are good at, but the big ones seems horrible at it and would rather spend more money once the same level of player "proves it" at a bigger club.

More likely they go with a similar level option but much safer, like Nolito, who would do much of the same things you suggested (but with MUCH less physicality to his name) but is considered safer because where he plays and has played.

Pay 50 milion for Laporte when we have a better defender in Bartra.

Yes, but I also have zero faith in the guy when it comes to making a proper signing.

Also, there is no way Roma part with Pjanic in the winter. They are doing good in the table, could potentially still be in the Champions League (plus is cup tied so we would still be rocking Gumbau out there in crucial games in the Champions League).

Verratti is so overated. He sucked balls vs. Madrid. Deserved to be sent-off, was utterly dominated by Casemiro and Lucas Vazquez, and didn't create anything. But he dribled past 3 players once, which makes him flashy and everyone will say he had a good game.

Verratti was fine lol. Di Maria and Ibrahimovic were awful thats why they didnt create.
