Well that same team + 100m more worth of talent looked like shit without Suarez so it's hard to agree with your point.

One could say Suarez was the reason that well oiled machine even worked.

I seem to remember Suarez missing quite some time in fall and Liverpool still doing well.

Nah. It's never that simple.

Obviously Suarez' presence, and his leaving, had a huge impact.
But he didn't carry the team singlehandedly. You could also point to Gerrard's decline as a reason for last season.

lol @ES that scenario is very possible. and i like higuain's football. i think he has been heavily vilified and unfairly too. there are cristiano fans who dislike him cos they felt he was trying to upstage cristiano when he first joined madrid; messi fans blame him for the world cup and copa america; for years there was a divide between higuain and benzema fans, which i felt was ridiculous, they could both coexist if managed properly....but it doesn't change the fact he's had a lot of boneheaded moments. for his sake, i hope that scenario doesn't happen, but its plausible. one has to give the guy credit, most strikers would cower away from attempting shots and focus on  becoming ball-passers and assist men if they got the same level of bashing pipita has been getting since like 07.
