Higuain's father : ' Juve made great offer for Higuain, but...'
Interviewed by Fox Sports, Jorge Higuain, father of the Argentine footballer Gonzalo, followed by Juventus for a long time even before you turn - then - on Jovetic, confirmed the deal with Arsenal. "We have received permission from Real to deal with Arsenal. I hope to be lucky enough to see my son play in the Premier League as soon as possible. Yet there is nothing concrete, but the negotiation is at an advanced stage. We yet spoken of the contract. " Higuain senior, then, by implication, also acknowledged as offering the Juve player was very good. "Arsenal made a great offer, as well as Juventus."

Juve made a laughable offer actually. 25 mill in 4 years...perez laughed off it.

Bunch of installments Even Arsenal payed straight up 27 mill euros yet Italian champs played hardballs and told to gtfo..
Re: Higuain's father : ' Juve made great offer for Higuain, but...'
According to reports Perez had no problems with installments, the only thing they asked that Juve should raise their bid.Adit wrote:Bunch of installments :rofl:Even Arsenal payed straight up 27 mill euros yet Italian champs played hardballs and told to gtfo..
Also, Arsenal only raised their offer today, so they were trying with lower bids as well.
We weren't in desperate need of Higuain, that's why it's good to have multiple targets rather than just splashing all the cash on one player (not really typical move by Arsenal tbh)

lol, 25 mil is too much for an overrated Real Madrid player, a CF who misses tons of chances in big games and is not very good in link up play.... We got tevez for half of that , and is twice the footballer higuain is...Adit wrote:Juve made a laughable offer actually. 25 mill in 4 years...perez laughed off it.
yeah, our club is laughable cause we spend 0 dollars on players like Pirlo, and don't spend 70 millions on the likes of Kaka...

Real Madrid were acting like they were selling gold but when the player publicly states his desire to leave their position weakens. Juventus didn't need to pay up. Llorente on a free and Tevez in a more cost-effective transfer, no one here will say Juventus got it wrong

I told you guys... Perez had a massive problem with installments. €27 mil today in one shot is equal to a total of €36 million over 4 years in annual installments if you take into account the time value of money (finance). That's why Perez said at one point that unless Juve come with an offer of well over €30 mil, they would have a difficult time.
Perez may not be a footy mind... but he is a great financial person.
Juve lowball offer would have been considered at the end of the mercato if nobody else came to the table with a better offer... Arsenal did.
Of course, i mentioned this months ago and was ridiculed here. I understand the fanboy logic... but cold hard business is where the truth lies.

Yeah... signing a 30 yo forward who has had 2 meh seasons back-to-back where you pay €12 mil and are committed to over 15 mil in wages with absolutely little to no resale value.
That's better than a 25 yo CF that is just entering his prime.

You talk about cold hard business but ignore the fact that Tevez is easily the more cost-effective transfer. Higuain would have been given the same contract so you can cross wages off the board.

If you are going twist things like that just to suit yourself,i might as well say Arsenal are splashing close to 30m(in euros) on someone who was a mere bench player for two straight seasons and has this happy knack of performing terribly in big games.Doesnt sound so good does it ?
Resale value ? I guess so,that'd matter more for clubs like Arsenal.
And its €9m + bonuses btw.

Lol the thing is, the money they want for a very unhappy striker who has had a bad season and done nothing in Europe was a Joke
20M straight up is fine. Not closer to 30M.

Not sure who this is aimed at but yeah, I enjoy the fact that people refer to 25M as laughable when connected to an athlete : proud:

I'm saying you don't need to concern yourself with how great the deal is financially.
If you feel that Tevez is a great player for you then great but the finance shouldn't come into it and shouldn't be concerning yourself with it.
Same goes for Arsenal and Madrid.

Why not ? Whats wrong with that ? Fans are so engrossed with their team these days that every aspect is being discussed be it the financial side of things or anything else. This is also my indirect appraisal for the sporting director for the deal he secured just in numbers for a player of his calibre.I dont understand these random comments from you.Its just an internet forum afterall and if you dont like it,might as well ignore it,simple.
If you have certain principles ,so be it.Just dont try to enforce it on others.Cheers.

tevez is 29 not 30.
Now ill ask this, since u say higauin is in his prime and will join Arsenal
When Higuain reaches 29, will he have the same amount of titles Tevez has? In Arsenal? LOL
Tevez being a meh striker.....only on GL.....

Sounds like a Man City mentality. I like looking at how clubs spend money on players, and I like discussing it

Yeah nothing wrong with taking the financial aspect into account.
Think about it Mole, if you signed Bent for £15M, but another club signed a similar played for £3M wouldn't you recognise the money used is significant and how it could screw up the rest of your clubs business.
It's nice to know a club's taking control of its finances, or it could be in trouble in the future. Which is worth talking about.
