One of the reasons I'm not keen to quote foreign films, because I know there's a good chance that the translation wasn't done exact.

No translation is ever done exact tbh. Most of it is translated to give the true meaning of the sentences. Sometimes that's awful though. Especially with names in a joke. When they mention an American man in an American film in a joke, they translate the man to a famous Danish man. That's so awful
i use Subscene.com for subtitles, always works for me. Just have to match the file name for the subtitles with the file name for the film.

you guys talking about just non-English language films, right?
I could never watch English language films with subtitles.

I watch English films with subtitles. A lot of them are too hard to listen to at some times, and I don't want to miss anything.

re: English lang films: I sometimes have problems picking up an accent, but I still prefer not to watch with subs. If I don't get the hang of it and I feel it takes away from enjoying/understanding the film I'll quickly go and download the subs.
I'm not really buzzed about missing a few words here and there, the picture and the narrative flow makes up for that 99% of the time.

Brad Pitt's accent in Snatch was amazing!
I'm with you there. I'd get distracted so easily since I'd feel the need to read it. Unless we're talking about some of the stronger/stranger UK accents. Then I'd definitely need it.

Re: The Movie House - Part 5
It's Everest for me this upcoming weekend and then the week after The Martian. Gonna be a goat week. Been literally drooling over these two films for some time now.
Everest is already out here but only in select theaters. The closest for me is like 1 hour away. Just gonna wait another week when it's showing by my house.

In the Name of the Father (1993)
Powerful stuff... I was not aware of this story before. Daniel Day-Lewis is an amazing actor... He shows so many sides of his character without it ever seeming out of place. Whether he's being flirty, scared, crazy, lost, demoralized and all the phases Conlon goes through the movie, it all just feels so natural.
A must watch IMO.

Black Mass getting diverse reviews, but still more on the positive side.
Mississippi Grind seems to be a rich man's The Gambler.
My pick for sleeper hit of the year, 99 Homes, getting very good reviews.

The Downfall
Wow... I'm still under the impression, credits rolling down and music playing...
That was powerful. Don't even have the words right now.

Re: The Movie House - Part 5
Did anyone here actually really like Atonement (2007)
The first 50 minutes were brilliant imo, but the rest (the separation, war, story of atonement) was all over the place, and felt like it was missing an hour's more of source material

Loved it.
Anyone seen Dead Man Walking? Considering it for today. Not seen enough of Sean Penn tbh.

Watched Everest. Loved it. Jason Clarke and Gyllenhaal are both fantastic. The rest of the cast was great as well.
8/10
Also watched 'Me and Earl and the Dying Girl' and Norweigian film 'Headhunters' with Jaime Lannister. Enjoyed both.

I saw it before all the memes / parodies and thought it was an excellent and realistic film. One of the best of its genre.

Coherence (2013)
Decent mind-bend for 50K. You only get that impression when it begins because of some shady camera work, but that was the only time I noticed it.
Worth my time.
