Re: The Bundesliga Thread
I'm looking forward to the Borussen Derby which is right on the first matchday on Saturday 15 August 2015, 15:30 GMT+2.
Borussia Dortmund vs Borussia Mönchengladbach
At Day 1 after Jürgen Klopp, I'm curious how Thomas Tuchel will set up the Dortmund team. And hopefully, Gladbach will manage to have a good start nonetheless!

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Hey, it will be broadcast to over 200 countries, won't it?
And the HSV kicked out most of the losers of the last season, so it will be interesting to see what the fresh squad will manage to do.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
I'm very curious as to how Darmstadt will do. My money is on straight relegation back to the 2nd flight, but what the hell, there's other bad teams out there.
Tuchels Dortmund will probably line up a lot like Klopps did, but I really hope they managed to reinvigorate themselves. They looked so spent through the entirety of last season.

Can some of the Bundesliga lads give me some info about Rudiger? We've been linked to him recently and his agent confirmed our interest.

@Kick
ATM it looks as if VfL Wolfsburg are close to sign Antonio Rüdiger. Rüdiger is a quite okay CB; personally I don't think he is so outstanding, but Jogi Löw seems to be a fan (probably because he's a Stuttgart player) and thus he got 6 caps by now.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Yah. There are quite some better CBs in the Bundesliga, but then, Jogi Löw favours certain clubs and thus selects theikr players with more likelihood than those of others ^^

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Despite that, I actually think Rüdiger has great potential. With CBs it's always hard to tell early, they might just be on a hot run of form, or falter immediately after changing clubs... I somehow still think Ginter is brilliant even though he sucked donkey balls for Dortmund so far.
Personally, I'm more interested in Knoche, Süle, and Tah (and Ginter) than Rüdiger. All in all our next crop of defenders seems to fall more on the side of "decent" than "great", but I expect great things from Goretzka, Can, Arnold, Brandt, and possibly Meyer, none of whom are defenders, though Goretzka does play a mean DM.
But don't take my word for it, I still hope on some level that Leitner will be the next big thing, and often catch myself explaining to people that Holty might be awesome if he didn't make one shit transfer after the other.

I completely agree.
If I were after a decent back up German, Sule would be my choice over Rudiger.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Telekom Cup on right now. Livestream on ran.de, no idea whether watchable from abroad.
http://www.ran.de/fussball/live/telekom-cup-2015-im-kostenlosen-livestream
Games are only 45 minutes, if it's a draw straight to penalties.
Gladbach - HSV started 15h (0-0 still)
Bayern - Augsburg next at around 16.15h
losers for 3rd place game: 17:30h
'final': 18:45h

Oh, you mentioned the Telekom-Cup here. ^^
I just put a summary into RG's pre-season thread. But I can copy this here, too, just for completeness' sake

Telekom-Cup 2015
Sunday 12 July 2015 was the 7th Telekom-Cup which was held in Mönchengladbach for the second time. Participants of the invitational tournament this time:
- Borussia Mönchengladbach (hosts)
- Bayern München (holders)
- HSV
- FC Augsburg
The matches are 45 minutes long and decided with a penalty shoot-out if they end in a draw. As many international players only returned from their holidays two days ago, the teams line-up with a lot of youngsters (except for HSV who played pretty much their normal starters).
Semi finals:
Gladbach vs Hamburg (0:0), 4:5 PSO
Bayern vs Augsburg 1:2
Third place:
Gladbach vs Bayern (0:0) 4:3 PSO
Final:
HSV vs Augsburg 2:1
