Actually Kagawa out means that Götze can finally play in the middle where he belongs.

As much as it hurts , Dortmund play this season without Götze and Reus. So they will be even stronger next year i guess.
Reus is my favorite BL talent :,(

If he was that good I will know of him, so perhaps maybe he's just a decent player.
Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Sebastian Rudy is a very promising player currently at Hoffenheim. He even was nominated by Löw for one of the EM qualification matches. Certainly a player one might monitor.mtfootball wrote:Never watched Sebastien Rudy play, is he any good?

Good all round B2B? As good as Khedira?

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Well, Rudy is a good CM (in fact, he has played about all positions including GK during his youth, although the latter wasn't his forte at all ), but in the NT he will have difficulties to get past Schweinsteiger and Khedira as they are far more established. On the other hand, he is only 22, so he still has time to hone his abilities.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Okay, it's here, it's time, it's down to business.
Matchday 1 of the 2nd Bundesliga kicks off today, and I'm pumped for the main event of the evening.
Erzgebirge Aue are hosting the club to end all clubs, the greatest football team in the world, none other than mighty FC St. Pauli, the league's buccaneers.
We're going into the match as favorites, as indeed we do into all matches, being the greatest club to ever grace the face of the planet, but we're almost infamous for bad starts into the season, so I'll be cautiously optimistic.
I expect our team to get promoted this season, we don't have to shy away from our main competition, the always-underperforming Hertha BSC Berlin, or the Podolski-less FC Köln.
So, mates, I recommend you all switch on your TV come 6 PM CET, crack open a cold bottle of Astra Rotlicht, kick your feet up, and cheer for the last club that takes not being serious serious.
Nich lang schnacken, Kopp inn Nacken!

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Good luck, Viva!
But there is something else important:
Tonight is derby time in Oberhausen!!!
RWO (Rot-Weiß Oberhausen) plays at home against RWE (Rot-Weiß Essen). Nothing but a win is acceptable today!! Everybody keep your fingers crossed!
(BTW, St.Pauli isn't the last club that doesn't take itself too serious - you forgot about RWO )

Hertha losing 1-0 to Paderborn, and to think some had them finishing in the top half last year. However it looks a little sad to see the stadium have so many empty seats, looks a little like a Serie A match

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Oh terrific scenes in Berlin! After about 10 minutes of back and forth football in which both teams missed quality chances, Paderborn were rewarded a highly controversial penalty that they converted to make the score 2:1. However, a minute later Hertha earned a free kick 20 yeards out that was stopped by the keeper with a terrific reaction save however the rebound feel right a Sami Allagui who smashed home from close range, 2:2 with 2 minutes left!

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Don't speak to me until tomorrow or so when I have digested the shock that we lost the derby in the most outrageous way. This (insert some really colourful insults here) referee gave RWE an offside goal that virtually broke our necks. You know, we were 0:1 down at first, then turned around the match to a 2:1, only to have it equalized again short thereafter. And while it was fun end-to-end action, in the 87th minute RWE got their offside goal only to cap it off in the 89th minute with the 2:4 when we were still outraged because of that *** ref decision. At least we had a whopping 13145 people audience - and that in the 4th league!
