Florentino sacked Ancelotti for substituting Bale

That’s how the dismissal of Carlo was explained to his board of directors. On Monday 25th May, Florentino was with Ancelotti in the Wellington hotel. In that meeting he informed him of his departure. After the meeting he headed to the Santiago Bernabéu to communicate the decision that he had taken by himself to his board of directors. The Real Madrid directors asked Florentino Pérez why he had taken the decision to sack Carlo Ancelotti. “It’s a question of loss of confidence,” the president explained to them in the board meeting that was convened before the public appearance in which he notified those present of the sacking of the Italian. “But why that loss of confidence, if he won four titles in his first year?” insisted one director. Then Florentino responded with a “I don’t know” minutes afterwards in front of the journalists. The president told his directors that Ancelotti had not extended good treatment toward Gareth Bale, “a strategic player for us”. “Once he removed him and I reproached him and Carlo didn’t understand it. Since then he lost my confidence”. That reproach was made after Bale was substituted in the 71stminute at Mestalla. Sources close to the dressing room revealed that Florentino said something like this to Ancelotti: “To remove Bale is to attack me.”

I would believe it to be true of Ancelotti actually subbed Bale once in a while. He got fired because he ran our players into the ground without winning anything

honestly, won't working for AS be an amazing gig? if its a slow news day just make up a story and run with it. AS has been doing that for years, even marca sometimes are a little careful with how they operate. the stories i love by AS are the ones where they even use quotations on what was sounds like a private conversation between two people...like they were eavesdropping or something. i'm not sure i buy this story, they always do this, they never mention any names, and we never know if their "source" is just feeding them bullshit...i wonder how they never get sued, they've been writing fictional type stories for a very very long time.....i'm in no way saying this story isn't possible, but it wreaks of typical AS bull...marca isn't any better to be honest. maybe its a spanish media thing

exactly, if carlo actually constantly subbed bale out or didn't start him in a number of games, this could sound believable, outside of times he got injured, the one thing bale never lacked with ancelotti was minutes. AS and florentino have had a very testy relationship, maybe that's why they're resorting to this
