Who has.... ?
Florentino vs. Calderon: who has been the better president?
Both presidents have lasted for 3 seasons, Calderon has spent 285 in 19 signings and achieved 3 titles, whereas Florentino has spent 391 in 19 signings and achieved 1 title. So who do you think has been the most successful Madrid president in recent history?

Re: Florentino vs. Calderon: who has been the better president?
Perez.
Calderon won more only because he didnt have this Barca in his way.
This Madrid is far stronger then the title winning one.
His (Calderon) signings bar maybe 5 of those 19 turned out to be quite bad. Also, when you sign Faubert you already lose.
Way too many over the hill players like Canna and Emerson and too many not good enough like Hunterlaar, Drenthe, Lass.
Granera, Albiol are meh, but they are depth so no harm. Kaka of course was a shockingly bad one, but thats only one. They have wasted Canales and I dont think he will ever make it big for them.
Perez has spent far more and got less titles to show for it, but its a little unfair because the competiton is harder now.

Though, thats just the playing and signing kinds of things. When you talk about all the other things done for the club by each, im out, I dont care enough to know details.

Re: Florentino vs. Calderon: who has been the better president?
Both are horrendous, so since this is a competition about who was the less worse of the two, im going to go with Perez.
At least he is a money generating machine, and he isnt sinking us along with the sporting results.
But when you sign Faubert and get fooled by a Nicolas Cage look alike, you lose automatically.

All Kaka's fault
We would have won everything if he lived up to his price tag.

Re: Florentino vs. Calderon: who has been the better president?
They were equally complete shat until last year. Suddenly, Madrid starting signing young stars as opposed to over-the-hill ones and looking to build an organization... hiring Mou from a football standpoint saved Perez and Madrid.
By bringing in Zidane to handle the off-the-field football aspects and Mou to handle everything that relates to the on-the-field product, Perez has created a dream team of sorts. The youth program director is very good too. I just hope he stays out of the way and focuses on his strength = making money for the team.

Strange this is in the general section but alright then, Perez never won his election illegally nor did he get fooled by some dude who kinda resembles Nicholas Cage so Perez wins this one solely based on that...

Re: Florentino vs. Calderon: who has been the better president?
Perez by a mile. Not necessarily because he's been so good but because Calderon was a shameless imp of a president.
Honestly Calderon was probably the worst president in the club's history regardless of titles/money spent etc. He was an embarrassment every time he opened his mouth.

Perez by so damn much. Madrid actually have a solid core of a team that will last them years, rather than relying on underperforming superstars they have hungry players with drive.

Re: Florentino vs. Calderon: who has been the better president?
Mourinho.
Just kidding, PEREZ PEREZ PEREZ. Calderon was such a fail, huge. He made so many mistakes. Perez wasnt extremely good either until Mou came along, but that has been the best thing for our club in ages.
Go flo!
EDIT: I bet the people who voted for Clownderon werent Madrid fans.

Calderon has won 3 titles though, unlike Perez who has only managed to win 1 in the same timestamp. Perez has wasted more money in an equal amount of signings. The bottom line is that Calderon has achieved more with less resources.

Would he have been more successful had his time in charge been against the same Barcelona today? no.

Did Clownderon get us past the R16? No he didn't.....
Did Clownderon have to compete with the best Barcelona team in history? No
Did Clownderon rack up as many points/goals per season? No
Did Clownderon embarrass the club and the image of the club by rigging the presidential elections? Yes
Did Clownderon manage to win a trophy that we had not won in 17 years? No, Perez did.
I truly consider us one of the top 3 teams in the world atm, under Clownderon our UEFA ranking dropped lower than it ever has in Madrid's history.
Clownderon is a joke...

True but he still managed to embarrass the club despite all that. And despite Spending less, the club made less revenue.
Not to mention that he stole from the club and socio's as well as rigging an election.
The guy was/is a joke and honestly the club's worst ever president. All the club achieved during his reign was despite of him being president not because of him being president.

Re: Florentino vs. Calderon: who has been the better president?
Calderon rigged an election. Seriously, that is an automatic defeat right there. All "achievements" are ignored totally when the president cheated his way there. In fact, why he isn't in jail is beyond me.
He also hired Mijatovic which makes things worse...
Edit: 5 ppl voted for Calderon. Really?! Really guys?!
