2500 young actors are in the running for Han Solo atm. They really need to get this right like no other role before. This is probably the most terrifying but amazing role for a young actor to be cast in. Most beloved Star Wars character really.

They are going to release a Star Wars film every year. In between Episode 7, 8 and 9 they are going to release anthology films. The first two confirmed are Rogue 1 (2017, about Rebels who steal plans for first Death Star, Darth Vader rumored to appear) and Han Solo film (2019). Others rumored are an Obi Wan film starring Ewan McGregor and a Boba Fett film starring Michael B Jordan.

Just read about this, apparently Rami Malek (Mr. Robot) and Chandler Riggs (The Walking Dead) auditioned to play young Han Solo.

I think Rami Malek would be amazing, has the charisma and acting chops to nail this role.

That would be bullshit most probably (Rami Malek). I actually think Rami Malek has auditioned for Boba Fett if I'm being totally honest. He looks the same skin colour and nationality as the New Zealand guy who played him. Would also be weird seeing Han Solo transform from Egyptian into a pasty white guy.

Michael B. Jordan is also not gonna play Boba Fett, since Boba Fett is not black.

The characters still have to fit continuity, you can't fit in someone with a different ethnicity. I would love Malek as Boba Fett though.
