Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V9
Okay, all right, so, the exciting action is very much concentrated to the bottom of the table, with the champions and the top-4 looking set. Let's see...
Southampton v Tottenham
5th and 6th are guaranteed Europa League and 7th will get it, too, if Arsenal beat Aston Villa in the FA cup. If Villa win the cup, they get EL, too, and the 7th doesn't get it. Mind you, 6th and 7th have to qualify to reach the group stage. That's what is at stake here, that guaranteed EL spot that comes with a top-6 finish. Exciting? Sure...
Burnley v Leicester
A relegation six-pointer! Hell yeah, exciting! In before it's a nil-nil draw.
Crystal Palace v Hull City
I really didn't think Hull would be in this much trouble, but it's a goal difference of one goal that's keeping them out of the relegation zone right now and they will play Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Man United in their final six games, this one included - albeit only Tottenham away. But first it's an even tougher game than those: It's against Alan Pardew.
Newcastle United v Swansea City
Can Newcastle finally stop their slide of six consecutive defeats? For entertainment's sake I hope not.
QPR v West Ham United
Probably a do-or-die game for QPR, their next to matches will be away to Liverpool and Man City. A disinterested and Carrolless West Ham pretty much the perfect opponent.
Stoke City v Sunderland
If Hull are in trouble despite not being in the relegation spots, so are Sunderland. Stoke aren't an easy place to visit, but not an impossible place, either, to get some all important points. I wonder are we going to see Adam Johnson, who is cleared to play, but was charged earlier this week for his affair with a 15-year-old. Personally I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with a 12-year-old called Bunnahabhain later today. Might share with a friend.
West Brom v Liverpool
Yeeeeeeah, let's keep that pressure on on the Manchester clubs...
Manchester City v Aston Villa
We let them through to the FA cup final, the least Aston Villa can do is return the favour by beating Man City. Benteke five goals and a £40m transfer to Liverpool incoming.
Sunday
Everton v Manchester United
Come on you Toffees, lol.
Arsenal v Chelsea
Here's hoping for a home win to keep at least theoretical excitement on the title race.
Championship
It's the second-to-last round.
Brighton v Watford
They're top of the table and it's a very winnable game for Watford here. But will the nerves get to them? If they win and other results go their way, Watford could secure their place in next season's Premier League today!
Fulham v Middlesbrough
Pretty much a copy of the above fixture: A low-placed home team versus an automatic promotion chaser. Middlesbrough are 3rd on a much-lower goal-difference to 2nd place Bournemouth, who play only on Monday.
Rotherham United v Norwich City
And yet another: A low-placed home team versus a promotion chaser. Norwich are 4th, two points behind Bournemouth and Middlesbrough. Rotherham themselves are battling against a very real relegation threat.
Millwall v Derby County
And it's Millwall who are pushing Rotherham the closest, who themselves face a promotion play-off hopefuls Derby. Big stakes.
Ipswich Town v Nottingham Forest
Ipswich hoping to clinch a place in the play-offs.
Reading v Brentford
Brentford need to win to keep their play-off hopes alive.
Wigan v Wolverhampton
Wigan need to win to keep their survivals hope alive, Wolverhampton need to win to keep their play-off hopes alive.

I couldn't believe to my eyes when I've read Lamela scored today
Then I discovered he scored packing a punch.

Watford win 2-0.
If Middlesbrough lose to Fullham, and Norwich fail to beat Rotheram, Watford will be promoted today.
For the sake of entertainment, I hope Boro and Norwich both win and take it to the final day.
Meanwhile, Saints and Spurs drawing 2-2. Goals from Pelle (x2), Chadli and Lamela.

Lmao incredible to Burnley.
Burnley-Leicester , a real play out.
Burnley misses the penalty kick to 59' minute. Just a minute after , Leicester scores with a Burnley's own goal.

I have to hand it to Rodgers. if I was manager I would have cheated and spent money on top class players to win games and get champs lge football now. but not Rodgers. that would be too easy for him. I mean why buy players like fabrigas. sanchez or costa. when you can win title and get in the champions lge with players like markovic. lallana and origi.

Mental game between Fulham and Middelsbrough. Boro 3-1 down at half time and down to ten men, got it back to 3-3, went all out, conceded in the last minute when their keeper was caught up the pitch.
So Watford are promoted. Bournemouth win on Monday and they'll be as good as up thanks to vastly superior goal difference to Boro.

Yeah let's not pretend sanchez wasn't a target lol, he chose arsenal, stop making it as if that's ROdgers fault.
