I don't think a strike force can be the "best in Europe" when it didn't even play in Europe

City scored 102 goals. Liverpool scored 101. Not even best strike force in England, some would say

But that's just it! Forget the exaggerated use of the 'disgrace' word by whoever. The intention behind the word was that Liverpool bottled it against teams they should have trampled over, and consequently, not in the top 4 contention. And people (read: non-Liverpool fans) who were hoping that Liverpool finish in CL spots and rooting for you, did feel let down!
I already said that 'disgrace' is probably taking it a tad too far, but that doesn't deny the 'let down' part imho

City's 4 strikers combined scored 45 goals.
Suarez and Sturridge got 52 goals.

Classically moving the goal posts. That's not what the original quote says though

and yes, obviously the exaggerated word 'disgrace' was used to correspond with how much I would have loved for Liverpool to keep Utd out of top 4, and what a tragedy it is if you think wins against Hull and West Brom might have made that drream come true.
Sadly, Mr Bond hasn't understood it like that, that I'm actually on his side

Besides, if anything, being less reliant on individuals makes it a more reliable strikeforce
If it said 'best striker pair' or something, I would feel more inclined to concede
Liverpool were too reliant on two individuals, by Nishy's logic, which explains why they are struggling this season.

It does not matter.Man United have greater spending power than Chelsea who have adopted a sell-buy policy in the last two yrs.
And they will be in the CL now too.If they throw 100m at Bale, rest assured he'll be at Old Trafford next season,if thats what you call a 'marquee signing'.
Well yeah if you are desperate enough to throw 100m at Real Madrid and pay 300,000k+ a week for Bale service then that would do it.
Even with CL, Manchester United attraction is nowhere Chelsea, Bayern, Barca, and Real Madrid. For them you just have to throw enough money hoping it sticks i guess.
i hope they sign Bale, i am rooting for a stronger league.
Whether they are desperate or not isnt the question. They have pulling power and obviously a lot of money.Dont make it sound like they are some new rich kid in town.
Just for arguments sake, who are these marquee players you speak of ?
Btw,i dont see much of a gap between United and Chelsea. They are both equally attractive destinations for top players.
For example players like Pogba would fit that category.
My main point was can you see players like Pogba, Veratti, Koke, Reus, Bale, etc jumping ship to United, City, and Arsenal easily? They might sign Bale for example because Real and Barca are out of the market for him. By throwing 100m at Real Madrid, you take every club off the market no body is stupid enough to spent that much on him. Flo Perez is thinking United are god sent for him.
Look i don't think the rest of the league can attract players like we can.
United are not the new rick kid in town, they don't even have that pull. Look at United with their dealing of Wayne Rooney, can he hold club like Chelsea, Real, and Barca hostage like that? For me actions like that really defines you as a club. It showed me incredible amount of insecurity and their inferior status. An elite club would not allow that to happen.
For example if Eden Hazard wanted to leave Chelsea, he would not be forced to stay like how the best players at Arsenal, City, United, and Liverpool have done. Really there wouldn't be that much fuss. Chelsea have a abundance mentality, even with his sale we would continue to move forward to be the best club we can be.
B-Mac wrote:wtf Chelsea fans acting like they a prestigous club up there with Barca and Madrid and Bayern
pls if Roman never came with his rubles you wouldn't even be a chelsea fan saying players come to United for a paycheck so much irony
let me know when you hit double digit league titles
your the original man city, a lottery winner and a playtoy for a man with to much money
Dat insecurity
You exactly prove my point with the most extreme butthurt response. stay safe bro.

Hans, why alway you
Forever misunderstood by premfaces. Last year it was Arsenal fans, this year it is Liverpool
Moral: Temper your expectations, especially when clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool are concerned. We have a tendency of disappointing at the most unexpected times #Moncao

We bottled against Monaco ffs. And we almost bottled the FA Cup last year. Did I mention Birmingham?

BBC scored 63 goals in the league, 97 in all competitions.
All competitions, you know, like the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.
