Re: Arsenal Lobby
For the sake of posterity, this is what I expected last summer, around August:
I over-estimated Pep's City a bit (if pressed I think I would have wagered on them winning the league over Chelsea), and I definitely under-estimated Pocchettino's Spurs (lol), but otherwise didn't look too far off the mark.
A lot can happen come Sunday. Arsenal could finish in a CL slot, or not. Either way, I think it's been a disappointing season for the Gunners, and there isn't a ton of optimism for the future. But if we compete in the EL next year, I'm a long way for giving up hopes on a quick return to the CL, at least ... whoever the manager is.
Rival-wise, I have a weird hunch that Man Utd is still not out of its post-SAF hangover and that the Mourinho experiment will falter. Maybe I'm wrong. Though I dislike Mourinho immensely I recognize his track record. He might do great things. But I just look at this squad and wonder how well it fits within the Mou comfort zone, how the club's fading/aging stars and fringe players will gel ... I think just as commentators are wondering (again) if this is the end of Wenger's hold on top 4, maybe this is also the season when Mourinho finally doesn't deliver a cold-blooded, second season title winning machine. All things have an end, who knows.
I am more worried about what Conte & Pep will do at their clubs. Chelsea had such a horrible season last year but they basically had the same personnel win the league before that, and now they have a few good new players and a disciplined manager. If I had to bet a dollar on what will happen in the PL I think it'll be down to Man City and Chelsea going for the top, with Arsenal and Liverpool likely to round out top 4.

@FT The approach from Usmanov was made last month. Stan Kroenke has informally indicated he is not interested in selling to anyone. [@FT] #afc pic.twitter.com/5Dh8o2ph7H

According to FT, there are other bidders monitoring the situation.
It's pointless if Kroenke doesn't want to sell, but I think many will hope something comes of it.

If Arsenal were for sale, pretty sure we'd break record of any club sale ever.
Sad how shit we are on the pitch in contrast to how marketable and reputable we are off it.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
We're something like the 7th most valuable club in the world, according to Forbes. So yeah, would take a lot of money to take us over.
Usmanov is offering more than 30% premium to Kroenke.
I wonder if the lack of decisions at the club is related to this.

That f'cker will not sell though. Maybe since we're out of the CL he'll consider.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
As much as I hate Kroenke, I still don't like the idea of Usmanov.
That sleazeball only ever crawls out when things are gloomy, with his promises of riches.
Also, wasn't he rumored to be cashing in on his 29% and putting the money into Everton with his other business partner who bought them over?

Re: Arsenal Lobby
The theory I'm seeing is that Usmanov made the bid knowing Kroenke would never sell to him. The interest is around the other potential buyers the article mentioned.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
It wouldn't surprise me if he did, Usmanov has wanted to take over for a long time and Kroenke won't even allow him a seat in the board. The dim-witted greedy cock-juggling ballsack.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Turns out that the sport1 article only takes a part of his comments. NDR (or some other outlet) had more.
Basically said he'd like to play 1 season more in London, and then decide depending on his fitness etc. Return to BuLi would also be an option then.
He's staying and playing alright.

Arsenal are making a significant move to strengthen their backroom staff with the expected appointment of Darren Burgess as a new director of high performance.

Those are some shitty options tbh apart from two, I went with Man Utd 2002 as well.

Apparently we've got a guy helping us with the commercial side of player contracts as well:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/06/19/arsenal-backroom-shuffle-continues-signing-new-legal-expert/
Wilson says there could be one more addition to the backroom staff this summer. Didn't say in what area though.
