We must get a goal in the second. One mistake and they could score. We've looked better than them so far at least and created better chances.

Kavlak isn't even a footballer. He's just a thug. So many fouls. I have no idea how he doesn't have a yellow card yet.

It was an OK 45 minutes from us, but we're looking clueless in attack, unless it's a semi-break. No one's taking playmaking responsibility in the final third and our decision making there has been awful. We have no presence in the center, behind the strikers, no playmaking from there.

The good news is that Besiktas haven't looked threatening, either, but clinging onto a one-goal lead isn't good when an away goal would probably kill the tie in our favour.

And Besiktas score. Been coming. We've been awful in the 2nd half.

Sterling is having a true shocker, I don't know why he's still on. Supposed to be the link between midfield and forwards, but he's been absolutely, completely invisible and doesn't look like he's even trying.

Sterling hasn't looked that good in a while for me. Maybe he's burnt out.

Brenda is really naive sometimes, I think he should have done that substitution before 10 minutes !!

I can see us score two or three penalties out of five... Maybe Mignolet will be our hero...

Both Sterling and Sturridge had really bad games, Sterling especially. We had zero creativity in attack, not from out wide and certainly not through the middle. It doesn't help "throwing the kitchen sink" at them if they see it coming from miles away. Just a really shitty attacking display from us and the formation with these players didn't work.

Very sad. The most gutted I've been since the slip.

We really should have put the tie to bed in first half. The hell was wrong with Sturridge tonight? I don't think he ran more than 2KM all game. Both him and Sterling were disgracefully disinterested and made Balotelli look like Kuyt in term of work-rate

More than the result and going out, I'm disappointed and annoyed with attitude of the players. Besiktas wanted it twice as much as us. What's the point of these lads focusing on "Top 4", only to get it and not care when they're in Europe ? I hate us turning into another Arsenal. Much rather we miss out on the top 4 al-together if that's the case.

Rodgers had a mare in second half as well:
1) Lallana sub should have been made 15 minutes earlier
2) Sturridge should have come off and not Balo
3) Lovren as 5th penalty taker. did everyone else bottle it that badly ?

Also, clear as day difference of Lovren-Kolo as side CBs than Can-Sakho.

Can-Sakho look like they've shared a joint before the game as calm and collected they are on the ball and against the press. Kolo and Lovren looked like they did 5 fat lines of cocaine each before the game with the panic. At least Kolo makes up for it with great anticipation play and good penalties.

Very bad day at the office. The only thing I want this season and is an absolute must is winning the FA Cup. We need to win that trophy badly. As of now, no excuse for it.

At least all the discussion about rotation/resting etc is now gone.

Missed Hendo and Coutinho badly...two best and most passionate players on the team out and it really showed.

Besiktas straight up just wanted it more. Very disappointing. Also after that peno I can't see Lovren regaining confidence in the near future. Woof...what a day.

We played well in the first-half and to be fair, Lovren & Toure was decent too. Only if Sturridge could put away one of the chances. Raheem probably had the worst game in LFC colors too.

Hope this result/performance doesn't affect our coming games.

I would also like to point out that even though all Lovren is going to be remembered for is the missed peno (probably because no one else had the balls to take it under that pressure) but he played a very solid game today. It's too bad.

Also I'm not sure how I feel about Sterling and Sturridge long term on this team. They don't have a winning mentality to me...still young of course, but I feel like as talented as they are they need ultra competitive players pushing them to be at their best. I could also just be bitter because they've ghosted in every big game so far this season.

I thought we were lucky when Allen scored. When I saw Lovren walking up to take the 5th penalty I pretty much forgave him for missing it right then. He's not a penalty taker, very few CBs in the world are, I don't blame him for missing. I don't blame the penalties in any way for our defeat, I blame to poor, poor display in regular & extra time.

Really hope Sturridge is just out of form and there's nothing with his leg. Playing very uneasy out there.

Can we get your view on Rodgers?

We would have got Club Brugge had we gone through Would've had Porto in CL or Brugge in EL but we effed both of them up to Basel and Besiktas.

Worst European campaign for us in the 21st century so far.
