Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
He has always had both those issues, its his stance and his desire to be like Floyd.
His style seems designed in a way to fight like Floyd has done the last like 4 or 5 years.
Standing in the pocket, shoulder roll, dont back up or chase, never throw more than 1 or 2 punches in a row, stand on the ropes and pot shot counter.
Look how wide Broner's feet are from each other, he stands in this dramatically wide base to generate power on punches but he gives up movement. So if someone can out jab him (Paulie M, Porter) or touch him up with bombs (like Maidana, Ponce De Leon a bit) he is in trouble because he cant move, cant use his legs. His offence is just like Floyd's in style, rarely puts punches together and pot shots.
The big difference is, Floyd has more speed, better timing, better accuracy and most importantly doesnt get hit like Broner can. Plus he can move if he has to.
I dont know why Broner would adopt this style in his early 20's. Floyd 10-15 years go fought a very different to style to now really.
And yeah Brook is legit. Khan ducking him is looking more ridicilous by the day.

Don't think Khan is ducking him. He doesn't want to commit incase Floyd happens.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Maybe you can say that today, since Floyd beat Pacman maybe..but not the last 2 years before that.
Khan gone out of his way not to fight Brook, instead fighting Molina, Diaz and Collazo.
He didnt want to fight Brooks because he "didnt beat anyone" fair enough (though its not like those 3 guys beat anyone) you dont want to take the risk without the money you get from losing to Floyd/Pacman but that excuse dont work anymore.
Unless his next fight is against Floyd, Pacman (obviously not), Danny Garcia (wont happen) or Maidana....how can it not be Brook? Who else is above him?

Nah I completely agree with you. I said it in Khan's last fight that he either needs to fight Brook (would be huge at Wembley) or he needs to fight Garcia again before he dreams of facing Floyd. He isn't the best in the division until he beats all these guys convincingly.
Would also like to see how Khan does against Porter tbh.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Before yesterday, I would have said he easily outpoints Porter in a decision win.
Now im not sure...he only just lost to Brook and beat everyone else...it would be a tough fight for both.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
I really used to like Amir, but he has been pissing me off recently.
He's clearly scared of Kell and rightly so, his unreactive and unadaptable preprogrammed combination style will only end up with Kell timing a power shot on his weak ass chin sending him down.
Danny Garcia man I hate that guy with a passion, hope someone like chino or Thurman gives him a real power beat down. Although I hoped for that when he fought Lucas and we all know what happened there .
I honestly have no idea who Amir will fight next, I have a strong feeling it won't be Floyd though.

Its incredible in this day and age, boxing still doesnt have a governing body to stop this kind of rubbish. Not that Floyd cares, but these random rules make no sense and they have noone to answer to.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Why didn't Floyd pay the sanction fee? or was it some other thing? Weird tbh.
In other news, Tyson Vs Klitschko on for October. This should be good.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Because he had no intention of keeping the belt anyway.
Rules are weird, cant hold WBO belt at 2 different weight classes unless you pay 200k? Ok mate

Watched Thurman-Collazo.
Great performance by Thurman. Won via TKO in the 8th round. Collazo couldn't see due to his cut lol.
Wonder why there is never talk about Khan-Thurman?

RG just stop, dont even think about defending your boy
Certified coward.
Fight Bradley and Thurman? Since when did Khan do that? Thurman called Khan out, not Brook
Brook BEAT Porter, end of story, bottom line. Khan hasnt beat anyone of that calibre since Maidana and even that was by the smallest possible margin.
Still talking about Brook dont have a name, meanwhile he fighting Allegri
Brook-Khan do Floyd-Pac numbers looool alright mate
Hate this dude so much, from the shit that comes out his mouth to the way he says it.

lmaoooooo
Not going to defend him. He has been ducking Brook for a while now. No idea why when he wants to face mayweather so badly.
I don't even know why he said that. At least Brook would fight the likes of Thurman.
Interested in who he is fighting next though. If it's some C level guy again then he has lost all credibility

He doesn't even back it up though
Also the reason why he wants to fight Mayweather is quite obvious, he can retire off the money he wins lol.
