See you laugh but tell me the difference.
We're having X number of shots a game. We're scoring a low proportion of those shots because no one can finish. Still defensively bad but thankfully not conceding too much anymore.
Oh, and Lucas is starting to become GOAT again. Watch our form plummet after he gets dropped / get sold because we're stupid in the market.

Lucas was lucky to stay on the pitch yesterday, the tackle that gave them the free-kick from which they scored would have been a yellow if he wasn't on one already.

Re: Chelsea vs. Liverpool
We're bad defensively yet we've conceded what...7 goals in the last 10 games inside of 90 minutes? Including multiple games against Chelsea and Arsenal?
We're playing very, very well. Rodgers has this team flying right now and we just came up against a wall in one of the best teams in the world at snuffing out chances (I don't care if you bring up Bradford or Spurs just because they played easy against teams they were expected to trounce, they always show up for big games). With any decent finishing we'd probably have progressed and Chelsea will feel lucky to have done so.
I for one love watching this team right now no matter how frustrating the lack of finish is. If that's all we are missing for a legitimate title challenge it's not a difficult fix with the type of money we should have available to be honest. Having Studge healthy would mean the world to this team right now.

Also, even though basically every single manager would have started Gerrard this game, I feel as though having Gerrard in over Lallana was a big reason we couldn't find a breakthrough. Not that Gerrard was completely awful, but having another dynamic player behind Sterling with Coutinho that is great with the ball and can find the net with a great work rate would have been tough for Chelsea. Ah well.

Re: Chelsea vs. Liverpool
btw...can we give credit to our defense finally ?
the first time in all competitions that Chelsea failed to score at SB at normal time against any team and that's with Glen freaking Johnson filling in at LCB for a while.
Only 1 goal conceded from open play since Leicester game.
to see Can charging forward and winning a freekick near Chelsea's box at 113th min was glorious. He'll turn out to be one of the best signings we've ever made. What a fantastic player.

Can is impressive. Yes, with Johnson and Can filling in at CB you can see that the system is doing wonders for our defensive record. But...Rodgers can't organize a defence, right?

Re: Chelsea vs. Liverpool
Done well defensively in 10-15 games, but sucked in the rest of the 100 games or so. Defensive genius.

I like to see a coach that can adapt. Especially a young one.

While Rodgers definitely deserves credit for sorting our defensive malaise, to a certain extent, in last 10+ games; he also has to take the responsibility for taking too long to do it.
Yes, he is a young manager and he deserves time to 'grow', but it's also inexcusable when he take too long to see a problem that's staring at him. I guess the best way to learn/mature is identify and rectify obvious problems quickly.

Re: Chelsea vs. Liverpool
Take Lucas out of this side and we'll go back to conceding a goal or two every game. Defensive genius.

@RA
Lucas the superman, he is the one who carried Gerrard, right?
When Henderson comes lunging the box and make match saving interceptions, credit goes to Lucas.
Sakho and Can are making important tackles, off course credit goes to Lucas.
3-4-3 is actually tactically making difference for our defense, credit goes to Lucas. I really dint understand why d f we are paying Rodgers millions for managing our team.
No need to give credit to others THAT LOGIC as much as I praise Lucas, credit should be given where it is due.
