Chelsea vs. Liverpool
Chelsea hosts Liverpool in the second-leg of Capital One Cup semi-finals. In the first-leg Chelsea showed their usual resilience against a marauding Liverpool. They may have returned bruised & battered, but they took the advantage with them. Now at The Bridge, there will not be 45,000 singing YNWA. Rather, cynical singing for Gerrard, boos & jeers for Henderson. Expect Hazard & Costa to fall flat at the mere sight of Emre & Skrtel. Then why Mourinho scribbled this in his notebook “EXPECT THE WORST”???. While Rodgers pointed every inch E-S-S gave to them and the inches G-C-R didn’t take, Gerrard was pretty calm when he said, “OK lads, WE GO AGAIN”. So when the Red Hordes rides to the bridge, it’s not for the faint-hearted cause it’s won’t be pretty. You may be a betting man and you may like the odds, but here’s a friendly advice, don’t bet against The Reds.
Probable starting XI
-------------Mignolet-------------
--------Emre-Skrtel-Sakho--------
Markovic-Henderson-Lucas-Moreno
---------Coutinho-Gerrard---------
-------------Raheem--------------

Re: Chelsea vs. Liverpool
Rodgers said: "Daniel starts training tomorrow with the team.
"He's in his final rehabilitation with the medical and sports science guys today and joins in with the group from now. It's just about getting football and game fitness.
“We'll see how he is for Tuesday. If he's not ready for Tuesday then he'll be back, for sure, against West Ham next weekend.”

Chelsea should be hugely up for this after the Bradford fiasco, we're in for a rough ride.

Re: Chelsea vs. Liverpool
How great would it be, if even if only for the lulz, Chelsea loses to Bradford, Liverpool and City at Stamford Bridge in one week.

Not saying it will happen, I am a firm believer in the power of the GL jinx, but just imagine that scenario.

Re: Chelsea vs. Liverpool
These pos' have really avoided defeat to us in the last few matches.
Last season the Eto'o red card not given and penalty not given on Suarez. And then the pos went on to score the winner as well.
Then basically parking the bus and us throwing the game away ourselves although they had come for a 0-0.
Then this season 2 clear handballs not given as pens.
And then another pos ref in the first leg and us missing chance after chance.
We're due an effing win.

Absolutely no way that could happen, so it won't.

Of course it may not happen. But the scenario itself is just bordering on orgasmic.

I'll be in full anaesthesia and in surgery for the first 60 minutes of this game.
Hope the score is nice when I look at my phone....

Re: Chelsea vs. Liverpool
Nervous, but excited all the same. If we go out there and dictate the tempo and play the game the way we did last leg whether it's home or not we will come out victorious. I can feel it. As James said with all the crap that has gone on against Chelsea over the last two years we are very due for a win (not to mention the Chelsea offside winner against us already this season).

Re: Chelsea vs. Liverpool
Brendan is already winning me over again with his 3-4-2-1 and I kind of feel like I'm fully on board again with him but if he can manage a result here to put us to the final, in my eyes this would his greatest achievement outside that unbelievable title challenge.

The final should be a lot easier game than this, so would be really great to win tonight. I'm feeling nervous the way I haven't felt about a match of ours since the Basel game.

Really looking forward to this game (another late nighter). Somehow I can only think about positive results. I'm telling you guys, it's not about Chelsea anymore, it's all about us. If we are sharp, focused and intense; we will win it.

Re: Chelsea vs. Liverpool
McY, you are spot on with the few decisions which went against us in the last 1-2 seasons. For that alone, we need to win this game.
Also, I think if Hendo performs to his best, we will win this game. Because my guess would be he wont find much space and time to make good incisive passes. Lets see!!

Re: Chelsea vs. Liverpool
Huge game. Winning would be massive, though I think most people don't see us as the favourites to win this particular match especially after the result Chelsea just had in the FA Cup. They're going to be looking to make things right with a big win over us so they're going to be coming at us with everything.
Hope we can somehow outdo a better team, away from home, because the final would probably see us as the favourites.
YNWA, come on boys!
Can - Skrtel - Sakho
Markovic - Henderson - Lucas - Moreno
Gerrard - Coutinho
Sterling
Bring on Sturridge in the second half to replace Gerrard and drop Sterling back, and then Balotelli on a bit later for Markovic and drop Sterling back again, but switch to a 3-4-1-2. Do eeeeet.

Lallana will replace Gerrard, probably at half-time. Sturridge will come only if he is needed that badly.Bring on Sturridge in the second half to replace Gerrard and drop Sterling back, and then Balotelli on a bit later for Markovic and drop Sterling back again, but switch to a 3-4-1-2. Do eeeeet.

Liverpool have won their last 5 away games in all competitions. The last time they won 6 in a row was Nov 2011. The 6th win....away to Chelsea in the League Cup.
