Also Colts player writes on twitter that it's not even newsworthy...
Dwayne Allen
@NFLonFOX not a story. They could have played with soap for balls and beat us. Simply the better team. We have to continue to build! #BTM

Re: NFL Thread Part 2
You're missing the point. The thing is that the Patriots keep getting caught doing shady things. Sure, other teams might be doing the same, but it's the Patriots who keep getting caught. If these things were not significant, why do they continue doing them?

Re: NFL Thread Part 2
What's the difference between getting "caught" and Aaron Rodgers openly admitting to doing the same type of thing? One gets media coverage because people are desperate to latch onto anything that suggests malice associated with the Patriots and the other doesn't ever see the light of day because it's just a player stating his preferences apparently.

It's not that they're the ones getting caught. It's that they're the ones actually being done something to.
Brad Johnson has publicly admitted bribing someone to alter balls in Super Bowls, not even close to this level. Eli alters ball months in advance to suit him. Rodgers gets over the limit on purpose, nothing gets done. But now when it's the Patriots, suddenly it's a big deal.
Double standards, and a complete non story if you ask me.
Either teams should be able to alter balls as they want to themselves, or the league should have full control on how they are handled. This is just a stupid rule on all accounts, that's only being taken up because it's the Patriots, who've already been scrutinised once in another overblown case.

Re: NFL Thread Part 2
There must be a Pats fans caught cheating handbook or something cause thats exactly what they said after Spygate too B-but everyone else does it. Sure.. but you got caught. Also a deflated ball is much more of an advantage than an overinflated one. Easier to catch and more importantly, which is being overlooked, easier for RBs to hold on to. Guess how many fumbles their RBs had this year?
Re: NFL Thread Part 2
lol, rules are rules. Over inflating, under inflating, there are advantages to both obviously but no one seems to care that we were going to win anyway but that it was the Patriots allegedly breaking some rule, any rule.
Anyway, Rosenberg gets ripped a new one here:
http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/01/20/sports-illustrated-writer-takes-belichick-cheating-accusations-to-new-absurd-levels/
Literally lol'd at the kava part. Awful journalism.

Re: NFL Thread Part 2
Okay, but here's the thing, officials check the Packers(all teams) footballs pre-game see that they are overinflated and correct them. AFAIK he never admitted to his team re-inflating them after the fact.
And that original writers points were absurd and/or bordering on tinfoil hat theories. What they did against Baltimore with the deceptive eligibility is completely fine and legal. The first 2 questions/points relating to this past weekend are fair, the rest nuts. I don't even know what that Kava bit meant, "wary of talking to me about getting together and drinking kava" what does that even mean? I've done Kava though and it's good times, felt like throwing that out there.

Re: NFL Thread Part 2
Rodgers admitted to doing it with the hopes (obviously) of getting it past the officials and to in-game use. It's commonplace and it's being overblown because of our reputation.
Would rather see if the NFL give an official statement on it first anyway, up until now it's just been BS conjecture.
and I still can't wrap my head around what he was suggesting wit the kava thing. Made no sense.

Re: NFL Thread Part 2
If the Patriots are found guilty of any wrongdoing, hold them accountable and let's move on to talk about the game. If there is no evidence of wrongdoing at this point, say it, mention that the review is ongoing, and let's move on to talk about the game.
http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4776939/piecing-it-all-together-on-deflated-footballs
If there's been any positive to take from this overly-dramatic BS circus it's that we got to hear Belichick talk about "how Tom Brady likes his balls."

Apparently, it was alcohol, the reason Gordon failed the test.

Sad. He's still only 24 so he's got time to turn things around but he's running out of chances.

NFL is looking at a Patriots locker room attendant who took the footballs from the locker room to another area: http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/12232207/nfl-looking-new-england-patriots-locker-room-attendant-deflategate-investigation
makes sense I don't think anyone bought Belichecks explanation. Certainly not this guy:

You mean the MIT that's right outside Boston?
http://uproxx.com/sports/2015/01/neil-degrasse-tyson-deflategate/
Is Neil Degrasse Tyson also a Seahawks fan?
his math is off but it would still require 90+ degree air, but hey, maybe they had a hot air pump.
Even George RR weighed in: http://grrm.livejournal.com/403848.html
Re: NFL Thread Part 2
Neil Degrasse Tyson's math is also off. How is 1 psi lower 15%?
So scientists are only credible when they've had a tv-show. Legit.
