Cou and Marko
But my god how bullshit was that second half, that's a joke and brought the excitment of a team down, whenever a team goes down to 10 we *bleep* always buckle FML.
Not very satisfied after today, but main thing is we got 3 points.
I'm sure someone can dig up a quote on my gut feeling on Can, hopefully he comes good

Few other positives aside the three points:
#1. Rodgers starting with positive squad
#2. Rodgers substituting Gerrard at HT
#3. Markovic upping it by another notch
#4. Coutinho being Coutinho (that without Raheem as well)
#5. Emre

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Lovren looked tidy though I know we are absolutely doomed with him in the side. Mignolet still managed to have a clown moment. Good away win I say. Marko and Coutinho though. All those shit summer signings.
Sakho looked a bit shaky but on the whole we've been a lit better defensively since switching to 3 at the back.

Gerrard subbed after 45 minutes, good... only until you saw he was subbed for Lovren

It was a smart sub. We were winning 1-0 away. Lovren played well, better than Sakho on the day. It's like you guys want our signings to fail to justify your whining.
Good for Rodgers. Lallana, Can, Markovic and even Moreno coming on and now Lovren looked good. Only against Villa but encouraging none-the-less.

Lovren looked a disaster to happen if anything x)
Another ref might even given a straight red for the tackle he got a yellow for. You're doing your best to hype up this player while dissing Skrtel all the time - who just happened to put in another great performance at the heart of the defense once again

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Lovren didnt do anything special. Getting a yellow, a few weak clearances and a 50-50 barge which could have been his second yellow if he had timed even a millisecond later.
Him, Borini and Moreno were the weak performers today. Mignolet idk.

If Johnson's shot had gone in, we'd be raging at Mignolet. It was in the middle of the goal. Sure, the wind made it more difficult, but Simon was diving out of the way anyway as the ball hit the bar right in the middle of the goal.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
We were very good in first half, the second half was disgusting. And Sunderland were terrible.
Why put Lovren on for Gerrard? He is so shit ffs. Granted Gerrard had an injury, but why not put on Balotelli? Try Balotelli with Borini ffs. Or put on Rossiter and put Henderson in that more advanced role.
Why put Emre Can on the wing and Markovic in the middle? We lost the midfield battle after that (Markovic game was nullified in the middle too, considering he was our best player on the right why not leave him there? Why not put Can in the middle?)
Why go "defensive" and invite pressure from Sunderland after they get a red card when it's clear we can't defend to save our lives?
And why's the *bleep* doing Nazi salutes?

Borini did well.
He should of played instead of that donkey Lambert at the start of the season.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Borini did Ok for me. It would have been so amazing if he can get little more attention from defenders, it will help everyone around him massively. In the next game, I would even try (with Markovic as RWB)
Sterling Coutinho
Borini
I think Balotelli was a wrong idea in the last post.Borini

It is worth a try but not against Villa. That side of the midfield will be def weak. Well Art was suggesting that before.

The option was to bring-in Balotelli for Gerrard, Rodgers clearly lack confidence on him.Why put Lovren on for Gerrard?
He played mostly at pedestrian pace. Should have chased the ball when the opponents had the ball.Borini did Ok for me. It would have been so amazing if he can get little more attention from defenders, it will help everyone around him massively.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Lovren looked so shaky when he came on and made some unnecessarily rash challenges getting lucky to avoid a stupid mistake. Immediately our defense looked more panicky after Can was moved to RWB and Lovren came on.
Guy is just a shit player. Can't really do anything but to hopefully dump him at the end of the season.

Yeah, Markovic didn't look too good in the middle, should have probably stayed on the wing and Can to CAM. However, Emre looked surprisingly good as a wing-back, too. You wouldn't expect a player who's played CB in the first-half to be making that run down the wing that got Bridcutt sent off. Impressive.
Albert wrote:Why go "defensive" and invite pressure from Sunderland after they get a red card when it's clear we can't defend to save our lives?
The Finnish commentator said at one point "Sunderland are playing better with 10 men than they were with 11!", and, yeah, I thought "we're letting them play better".
Sunderland began to take risks in search for the equaliser and it was a little disappointing and unnerving to notice that we didn't actually look more dangerous going forward. When your opponent is a man down and committing players forward, you should make it look like they're going to concede from a counter-attack any minute, but we didn't look like that sort of threat.
Anyway, apart from creating and taking chances to score, it was a positive performance and three points, so let's be happy about it.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
how d heck are you supposed to counterattack when you have a bloke like Balotelli standing (oh sorry jogging) in front of Markovic and Coutinho. I remember there was an instance when Coutinho had the ball and it was almost 3-3 and Balotelli jerk of a player just stands there and asks for the ball, instead of making a little run somewhere, which would have surely created a goal scoring opportunity. I cant tell you how irritating sometimes it is to watch Balotelli. But then it is another fact that, that turn near the box, on the left side, no other current available striker would have done that. Balotelli needs to do little more, adapt a bit when he is playing alone up front. Well every player does adapt when you are playing in a team.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
First of all, let's spare of thought for those who wished we'd lost today.
Remember after Burnley game, we were all disappointed at how we won? they're unbeaten since counting an away game at City.
We're THE FORM team of the league now..you couldn't make it up
With Saints win over United, the race for 4th, is basically now a race for 3RD n FORTH.
Our next 5 games are crucial. it WILL make or break our season. add the cup games sandwiched in between and the next month will decide this.
Villa (A), Westham (H), Everton (A), Spurs (H), Saints (A)
A lot of teams around us, and victory in direct matches vs. Rivals can have us go above them in table.
Let's just hope Sturridge can make it back on the pitch for this run. With a well-rested Sterling, Lallana back in 2 weeks and Sturridge on the bring, we could have plenty to smile about in a month time.
