Sunderland vs. Liverpool - March 10, 2012

Really guys? No one made a match thread for this one?

Starting lineup is:
-----------Reina
Kelly - Skrtel - Coates - Enrique
----------Spearing
-------Hendo - Adam
----Kuyt - Suarez - Bellamy

On the one hand, the lineup is somewhat positive in that we are effectively playing with 3 strikers. On the other, it looks as though we are trying to give opportunities to some younger players (Kelly, Hendo, Coates) over the experience of Johnson, Gerrard and Carragher. I'm not necessarily against this, but it seems like an interesting choice in a game we MUST take 3 points from. (Then again, what match don't we need 3 points from at this point.)

The most likely combination is that we're rationing some of the older, recently injured players time ahead of the Derby on Tuesday. However, one must admit that it looks like building Premier League experience over immediate results. In other words, it could be interpreted that we've written off this season and are looking towards the future.
