I'd rather a competent manager.
Yes, hopefully we can have a manager that will take us from mid table to challenge for the title.
I'd rather a manager that's good enough to win silverware ta.

#1. Henderson is placed at RWB
#2. Lucas-Gerrad midfield
-------------Mignolet-------------
--------Emre-Toure-Sakho--------
Markovic-Henderson-Lucas-Moreno
---------Coutinho-Gerrard---------
--------------Borini-------------
But it would be stupid to play Gerrard 90 mins so I would expect Balotelli after the break; or vice-versa.
Tomorrow's line-up . Can anyone confirm ???

No one can but recently we have been pretty bad with leaks of team lineup so just might be true!

TBH, aside from the inclusion of Borini (and dropping of Raheem) rest looks pretty normal/expected.Fahim89 wrote:No one can but recently we have been pretty bad with leaks of team lineup so just might be true!

Sterling has had a week in Jamaica ffs he should play this. I'll be livid if this risk doesnt pay off.

I can confirm it won't be that line-up, Toure's gone to Africa.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
No excuses to lose this, Sunderland have won just three games, but I can understand if it ends a draw. Will feel disappointed, but four out of the seven teams above us have gone to the Stadium of Light this season and drawn there (Chelsea, Man United, Tottenham, West Ham).

Subs: Ward, Enrique, Lovren, Lambert, Manquillo, Balotelli, Rossiter.
Borini over Balotelli.
Sterling missing???
34 year old Gerrard starting again after 3 days. (Leaving because of less game time? )

Well, at least it's not a Gerrard - Lucas pivot again, but I don't think Gerrard should be starting as CAM in the Prem. At least he's got a nose for goals, though.
Quite ironic that Borini starts this game of all games. He was quite popular at Stadium of Light last season, but I wonder if their fans are going to be hostile towards him because he didn't want to join them last summer. It would be so fitting for him to score the winner in this game that I almost think it's going to happen!

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
It's actually a good team if Henderson isn't playing RWB. Baloteli can't play alone up top, so nothing to complain. I think he should be sent in after the break, preferably for Gerrard.Red Alert wrote:Liverpool FC Verified account

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Balotelli in for Gerrard and Gerrard sent on as a substitute and I think that'd be as good a 3-4-3 we can play without the players who are missing.
Things to watch:
- The 3-4-3, how does it work. Our last Prem away game was at Burnley and the formation didn't work out.
- Can. I thought he had a few shaky moments at CB against Leicester, mistakes that were mostly down to inexperience, I guess. I don't think they lead to anything dangerous, but I'm keeping an eye on him.
- Gerrard at CAM.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Markovic motm so far. Great game from him. His teammates need to give him the ball more. Literally every time he touches it something good happens.
We should really be winning 4-0 or something. Penalty was a clear pen. Markovic very unlucky to hit the bar with that beauty volley. And Borini wtf was that he did the hard part but couldn't slide it into the empty net

Pretty good first-half but the cats looks uncharacteristically subdued. Should have had a penalty but Borini should have taken his chance. Keep it up boys.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Half-time and we've been good, but Sunderland have also been shit. I don't remember the last time a team has tested us this little at their own ground.
Coutinho is amazing. His drive forward is a joy to behold. I'd bet that more than half of our attacks start from Coutinho, either from his passing or his ability to beat his man in midfield.
Markovic having his best game in a Liverpool shirt by a mile. First should have had a penalty, then scored a good goal and then hit the bar with an outrageous volleyed effort. What a goal that would have been!
Talking about goals, I just hope we make our dominance count and score again. Sunderland don't look like scoring, but you never know with one-goal leads.

The angle was very narrow and he was moving fast, I don't blame him for not finishing that - but he has been poor otherwise. His first touch and dribbling aren't good enough. Not that we didn't know that already. I'm hoping we'd substitute the other Italian for his place.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
If I felt lucky to have beaten Burnley 1 - 0 in our previous away game, now I feel a tad unlucky that we only won 1 - 0 against a 10-man Sunderland team.
Should probably have had two penalties, then again Bridcutt to get two yellows for those challenges was a little harsh, imo.
Anyway, happy with the win! Three points exactly what we needed - and more from this stadium than many of our rivals have gotten.
After that, I'm not quite sure what to make of the performance. Sunderland were obviously shit, it wasn't all down to our superiority. On the other hand, we looked organized overall and lively in attack. Scoring goals remains a problem, but Sturridge should be back soon.......
The biggest positive for me was Markovic's excellent performance as RWB, which should mean that Henderson will now stay at CM since we have a player we can play at RWB. Coutinho was also outstanding, in some ways he's the most important player for us this season. He gets so, so many attacks started. The vastly-underrated-in-our-section Skrtel was also a beast in defense, making numerous interceptions and tackles, the most important one being when he cleared the Johnson shot that hit the bar.
It's a somewhat similar away game coming up next when we face another low-scoring team in Aston Villa in Birmingham. Hopefully we'll dominate again and make that dominance show on the score sheet, too. For now, let's enjoy the three points from today

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Can, I am in love with this guy. Very unique player in oue squad I am on Can Wagon, yyyyyaaaaay
Markovic he is finding his elements back !!
If we can combine Borini and Balotelli Balorini
Also, second half without Gerrard. A defender was a good substitution imo.
Coutinho, what a signing this has been, needs to improve his accuracy when he shoots.
Henderson needs to play little more forward passes, I am sure he is coming into that role of leadership.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Cou and Marko
But my god how bullshit was that second half, that's a joke and brought the excitment of a team down, whenever a team goes down to 10 we *bleep* always buckle FML.
Not very satisfied after today, but main thing is we got 3 points.
I'm sure someone can dig up a quote on my gut feeling on Can, hopefully he comes good
