Sunderland v Liverpool
We play a game of football on Saturday against Sunderland AFC. They were founded in 1879 and their official nickname is the Black Cats.
I'm scared.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Confident we can go out there and grab a result. No excuses. Put Balotelli or Markovic in for Lallana and let the goals flow. Would prefer Balotelli he looked quite good in his cameo against Wimbledon, for what it's worth.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Typical Larry reading whoscored again.
EDIT:
We're playing away and we're no doubt continue playing a 3421. Expect a dire performance with some lost points inbetween.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
Sunderland are hard to beat, we should know, having to settle for a nil - nil at Anfield not long ago. And they're a draw machine this season, 11 draws out of 20 games. They've won just one of their last ten games, so I don't dare to think of losing to them, but anything's possible this season.
I bet Gerrard is going to start given his goals against Wimbledon and the circumstances, so Lucas shouldn't start, but I guess he's going to. I just wonder whether Rodgers is going to play Gerrard as CAM now that he scored twice against Wimbledon - which I don't think would be a good idea (unless only as substitute).
But, yeah, I'm both looking forward to and scared of this match.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
I would be really, really mad if
#1. Henderson is placed at RWB
#2. Lucas-Gerrad midfield
-------------Mignolet-------------
--------Emre-Toure-Sakho--------
Markovic-Henderson-Lucas-Moreno
---------Coutinho-Gerrard---------
--------------Raheem-------------
But it would be stupid to play Gerrard 90 mins so I would expect Balotelli after the break; or vice-versa.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
I am fine with Raheems team
. In case we need goals, replace Lucas with Balotelli, bring Gerrard and Hendo in midfield and Sterling-Coutinho behind Balotelli

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
I wouldn't change anything to iftikhar's starting XI actually except switching Coutinho and Gerrard. I don't think it would be horrible to have Stevie up there with all the movement from Coutinho, Sterling, Markovic and Moreno as well as Henderson making runs from deep.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
I am also expecting Sterling to come back with some swagger and an improved one, may be I am expecting too much from 19 yr old kid but I think we all know he can perform higher than what he has done in last 4-5 games. He is doing great but he needs to start touching higher

Now now we would still have Mignolet at goal!!! I know Sturridge is good but expecting to win that with Mig on goal is putting to much pressure on the lad!! He is good but not God!!!

He's right. Hopefully by then we've at least loaned a real keeper.

I'd rather a competent manager.

Yes, hopefully we can have a manager that will take us from mid table to challenge for the title.

Re: Sunderland v Liverpool
This is a really weird team. They drew with Leicester and then draws with Chelsea. A string of good results against Liverpool, WHU, NUFC then losses to Hull.

we have to play an intense game and take their belief out that they will survive this onslaught today!!! We have to make sure that in the final third we play real quick
