Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Nah I usually watch on iPlayer. Been waiting for it all day ffs. Should be a goat episode. EE back to its best this year with new writers.
Drugs, rape, murder, house fire, hookers etc, had it all this year.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Mara u pos, I watched 6 episodes of ATLA.
- Spoiler:
- It's pretty childish and I read that the demographic for it is 6-11 year olds so those of you laughing at me for calling it a cartoon pls go.
- Spoiler:
- Having said that I do like it Who am I to complain when the show is really good.
Gonna watch more of it. It helped that it's on Amazon Prime otherwise I wouldn't have watched it.- Spoiler:
- also who do I hand my man card to?

First time I've heard that. Nice term tbh

Yeah Waldo was the only let down. Was like a 7/10 while the rest were hovering around 9/10

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Finally got around to watching Black Mirror. Everyone seemed to like "The Entire Story of You", but I actually preferred "White Bear"...that one resonated so much more for me. The most haunting of the episodes imo.
White Christmas was good. A little odd to see Jon Hamm in a BBC series, but good nonetheless.

This is my ranking:
Be Right Back
White Bear
The National Anthem
The Entire History of You
Fifteen Million Merits
The Waldo Moment
The ones in bold are just crazy good.
Fifteen Mill was good but not quite as good.
Waldo disappointing if you think about where the preceding 5 set the standard.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
I watched Ascension and it's too cheesy and trite. The characters are boring and the acting is mediocre. They definitely set it up to be the beginning of a new series. It does have a really clever twist though.

Great film. Don't really trust SyFy with it though but let's see how it goes.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Just watched Black Mirror - White Christmas.
Damn.
Damn.
- Spoiler:
- A superb episode, one of their best, which truly means something with this show. Brilliant lead performances. Even having guessed the central premise of the episode the show was still able to shock me in the final moments. Firstly the man being released back into society but having been blocked by the world and secondly the punishment meted out to the man in the cookie. The cold irony of the closing song perfectly illustrated the magnificently cruel twists that characterise Black Mirror. The episode felt solid whilst seeing the fulfilment of my predictions but those last two details are what really elevates the emotional impact of the show.
It goes without saying though that the justice systems in this show are beyond barbaric.

I also liked Marco Polo. My major problem with it is the Chinese Chancellor. I wish his character was more nuanced than simply evil Chinese.

Mid Season 2 is a bit slow and quality goes down a bit but it gets back to its best towards the end
