Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
McAgger I think these guys are just trying to spark a reaction out of us by saying stuff like that 'better than 90% shows' thing.
South Park is different. It's aimed for the humouristic side of adults/mature minds.
I mean, who doesn't love South Park.
Oh and btw, someone hasn't yet sold Archer to me, come on I'm waiting. Almost done with Justified.

You'll love Archer unless you're a tool without humour. Should be enough. Just watch it

But this is me talking straight now.
I've never had a problem with animated movies, or animated shows or cartoons. God, my real life mate still watches cartoons and I don't make a p*ssy out of him for it.
I don't think Korra is for me though. Saw a few minutes of Avatar last air bender before and I just didn't feel it.
So yet again, it comes down to a matter of "feels". We've been down this road for before. It's all subjective.
So when I say something like "OMG Freeza you're crazy how can you class Fight Club as a tier 2 film?????????" then it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. In my more reasonable mind, I know everyone has their own tastes and perception on things.
Oh and btw thanks Freeza. Archer on my list.

To answer your question you probs can watch Korra without watching ATLA but you wouldnt FULLY understand all of the stuff and the significance of some of the characters family history (sons/daughters of major characters in ATLA etc).
Highly recommend you watch ATLA first then watch Korra. ATLA>>Korra and 90% of tv shows. Better than the likes of SOA, Justified, TWD, True Dectectives etc... not even joking
Let's not exaggerate.

Was a goat cartoon back in the day imo. Is Korra similar? Because the cover of the show reminds me of it. The mummy in the background etc.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Started Arrested Development last night(after finding out Michael Cera was in it)
Watched 7 episodes in a row without realising. It's amazing. As good as people said it was. It's hilarious without using any cheap comedy. Instantly liked all the characters.

I like all of them equally but George Michael is probably my favourite.
When Tobias thought Geroge Michael wanted to know how babies are born in S1

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
I probably rate ALA up there with Maravilla. There are few shows I enjoy more.
@McAgger, knowledge isn't necessary but it helps. I'd say knowing previous knowledge helps you enjoy the show more, but it isn't necessary.
However I would suggest ALA above Korra.
Admittedly though, I think one thing Korra does do better is humor. ALA humor I often found was incredibly kid friendly and as a mid to late teen when I really started watching it, it didn't appeal to me like it would have if I was 9 or 10. It's quite funny at times, but not for me in terms of the humor. Korra overall is still kid friendly but has a lot of genuinely funny moments.
Anybody think that season 4 was hilarious? I laughed several times every episode except maybe the finale.

ATLA was so refreshing. Loved it.
As for LOK, I have not seen that yet so I will be looking for that.

I don't, ATLA doesn't have Asami, so it's automatically the worse show. Plus that bullshit at the end, which I won't spoil, but nearly 7 years on and I'm still salty about how things with the villain ended in ATLA.

When you watch LoK and see Asami, you will understand why it's better than ATLA.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
So Finally got around to watch Black Mirror: White Christmas.
Was incredible. As intelligent as the rest of them. They referenced every single previous episode in this one lol. Tried to make it a masterpiece and it really delivered. Which makes me wonder if this was the last one they plan on making.
9.4/10

- Spoiler:
- Saw it coming. Knew what it was with that second short story where he asked him to guess his job. It was quite intelligent though. However I thought the ending was a bit harsh. But it never ends happy with Black Mirror so I guess it wasn't surprising.
Loved the infinite loop symbolism at the end. That snow globe was a perfect summary of the episode

Finished watching Black Mirror regular season. Didn't like the second season as much as the first, but maybe that's binge fatigue.
