Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta has revealed they will only sell Arturo Vidal if he asks to leave.

Vidal's long-term future in Turin has been the subject of constant speculation since summer with Manchester United widely credited with an interest in his signature.

Chile international Vidal is under contract at Juventus until 2017 and Juventus are determined to hang onto the 27-year-old.

However, Marotta has conceded Juventus would consider selling Vidal if he indicates he is not happy at the club.

"(Arturo) Vidal? We already said that he is not on the market, but the player's will is decisive," said Marotta.

"Vidal has never said he wants to leave, and Juventus will sell him only if he were unhappy to remain.

"Nowadays, however, there’s absolutely no reason to even be discussing this now".

Juve board want to pin the flack on Vidal. They know damn well that the money we're offering is hard to turn down either way, regardless if Vidal wants to stay.

Every time I read a juve denial, they keep mentioning but if the price is right. I've never seen a top club so desperate to sell their main star before.

Some juve fan creating a fake Instagram account claiming to be Vidal, tagging a pic that says he's happy to stay. It's confused the media lol
Seriously, what is the point in all of this? If they convince others he's staying, that it would alter reality and make him stay?
I have no idea what will happen in this tiresome saga, but for once the English side and the national media are blameless in all of this.

He could join a team that doesn't go around with a begging bowl to buy players, whore their stars to other clubs and set out to steal youngsters before they sign pro contracts bcause they can't afford them in a fair market.

It's a tweet with the quote of the Chile manager who has come out and said it, so that pretty much confirms our interest in Vidal. How is that random?

If he is crocked, we should not buy him. I don't care how good he is or how willing Juve are to sell him, I don't want another Hargreaves at the club.

LVG is 100% right to be uncertain.

Not really. If Vidal stays at Juve, then I would take it as that- him wanting to stay.

But the feeling I get is that Juve want to cash in on him, and are wanting Vidal to force the move so that they can be absolved of any blame from the fans.

I myself think that Juve only wants to sell if a really high offer comes in, and that's not because we are desperate to sell him, rather we could use that money well (next year probably). Just as Marotta and Nedved told the press.

Like when we cashed in on Zidane, there are a few times when it does worth it to sell your best player.

If United tried with a 80m+ offer we would surely sell imo.
