Liverpool’s spending looks set to break the £70m barrier with the imminent signings of Benfica’s Lazar Markovic and Lille’s Divock Origi, Sky Sports understands.

With Luis Suarez’s move to Barcelona edging closer to completion, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers appears to be wasting little time in restructuring his squad ahead of the club’s return to the Champions League next season.

Serbian winger Markovic could complete a move to Anfield in the next 48 hours in a deal understood to be worth in the region of £25m.

A product of Partizan Belgrade’s youth system, Markovic is a full international with 12 caps and two goals to his name.

The 20-year-old joined Benfica on a five-year contract last season and Liverpool fans will be encouraged by the fact that he has won the league in each of his four seasons as a professional.

Markovic helped Benfica to a domestic treble last season and made 13 appearances in Europe as the club overcame an early exit from the Champions League to reach the Europe League final.

Origi could also join Markovic at Anfield with Liverpool understood be in advanced talks over a £10m deal with Lille for the striker’s services.

You know, I was just thinking to myself how odd this window seemed with the rich clubs not spending cash left and right. Monaco and QPR have both been pretty calm.....like zero to no rumors on either. One just got promoted and the other has UCL footy. So you would think both would want to stock up. I mean I get why Chelsea, City and PSG want to not spend with FFP on them...but what about QPR and Monaco.

Why would Valencia sell Feghouli? Especially for 12M? lol. The new rich owner can just build around him. Rich guy is trying to get out the dead weight to bring in better talent. Would be odd for him to consider selling Fegbouli is what I'm saying

Di Maria probably wants out. If we get a great offer selling isn't a bad idea.

We will have to replace him with quality though.

Di Maria's invaluable for our current tactics imo. Pogba, James Rodriguez etc are all good, but they don't offer what Di Maria does.

We can change our current tactics based on the squad. It's like we committed to anything revolutionary on a tactical level last season.

Lol at the London part. Sanchez would be at Liverpool if we had Moyes as our manager instead of Arsene. London could be a factor but Arsene is the reason he(hopefully) is coming to us.

Di Maria doesnt wants out, he wants to get paid. i dont know if that's 8 millions gross or net. If that's net, then he will never get it. If that gross, then we can easily pay him and continue with our squad without much change

Di Maria is a player every coach would love to have. The guy has the work-rate, physical abilities and does defensive work like Ramires, and has world-class skills.

Well, I now found some info about the Toni Kroos saga via kicker. So it seems to have been that he asked for 10 mio Euro (net), Bayern only wanted to offer 9 mio. Then Thomas Müller and Philipp Lahm extended, and suddenly Kroos asked for 12 mio Euros net, when Bayern was about to offer around 9.5 mio. Then Bayern said "Not this way", and now it seems that Real jumped in offering Kroos 12 mio net and thus he thinks it is a good idea to sign up there.
