the clause is 30+ millions euros, and then you factor in the taxes, so above 36mil

We paid a total of 39 mil for Illaremendi (same clause of 30 mil like Griezmann and 9 mil in taxes). I just assumed it would total the same.

When you exercise a clause in Spain, you are required to pay certain additional taxes to the government. So it's always clause + taxes.

i think laws are different for foreign clubs tho. Not to mention that about 7 mil we paid in tax, we got that back from the gvt after. So really we paid about 32 mil. I think that's how much he will cost to arsenal

We're looking at Danilo for right back as well, supposedly. I had completely forgotten about him as a potential option. Porto not an easy club to negotiate with, though; I've read he's got a £42mil release clause.

RW obviously, I've been raving to sign a RW for a long time. Ox/Cazorla left Walcott/Pedro right. Would be perfect.

Danilo would be a dream signing. His potential is incredible plus he is not some 30lb player and can actually fight.

But he will cost a bomb as Jay said.

We are also linked with Lichsteiner. He is 30 and would be a great signing if Bellerin is the future.

With Costa, Luis, Tiago, Villa and Courtois all on the way out, I doubt very much that Atletico would part ways with Juanfran cheaply.

We'll probably wait until after the World Cup to make the RB signing.

I feel we would have moved for Remy by now though. Giroud + Remy, send Sanogo out on loan and there's surely room enough for a top class forward as well if one becomes available. Should have 3 forwards capable of starting, no?

Arsenal not moving for Remy now isn't necessarily indicative of a lack of interest, but more likely suggests that he's a third or fourth choice target that the club will only move for if they can't secure one of their more preferred choices.

I don't feel it's necessary for us to have three forwards, though. Giroud plus a new forward would be enough on its own, as well as having Sanogo or Akpom still around, and the options of Walcott and Podolski. Giroud, Remy plus another "top" forward guarantees that one of them will barely see the pitch unless we played with two strikers.
