Re: World Cup: Group H discussion
Kerzakhov was a hitman in his Sevilla days, guess he just fell off.

Re: World Cup: Group H discussion
The thing is he was being hyped up pre-tournament for his Zenit work
But he missed so, so many chances. He was getting dream chances and smashing them wide
Russia were like top of the group going into match day 3 and then got K.0'd

I remember. For Zenit he has been a 1 goal every 2 games guy, but for Russia...much less impressive (25 in 80)
But I mean, I have no idea, havent watched him since Sevilla where his numbers were pretty underwhelming on the face of it, but performance wise and making a great impact off the bench were something I strongly remember.

I wonder if he's still their main striker. Tbh Russia played some nice football although i'd imagine that's no longer the case with their manager now

Re: World Cup: Group H discussion
I don't understand why people are acting like we are saudi arabia or iraq. The fact is our team is very strong and we have a top level squad. If you've seen fegoulhi, ghoulam, or soudani play then you'll know what I'm talking about
I really don't expect us to do amazing but don't act like our team is shit. If we lose it won't be because of the quality, thats for sure.

What's Algeria's starting lineup Giggy? Now that I think of it, they do have some talented young players. Ghoulam, Feghouli, Bentaleb, my man Boudebouz, Taider, that Porto striker, that Granada winger (he might be Moroccan lol), Benzema

Belfodil as well dude. both belfodil and boudebouz weren't taken lol, but that's due to their attitudes and it has nothing to do with the coach.
The porto striker ghilas just scored to make it 2-0 only 28 minutes in against Armenia we're trashing them with our b team

Re: World Cup: Group H discussion
Belfodil wasn't good even to get the call up for Algeria, what a flop ffs
So again Capello vs Algeria, I am going to bet for another ugly 0-0

Belfodil hasn't been in good form but hes still young and has time to improve. so ill give him the benefit of the doubt

The Franchise wrote:The Belguim team dont impress me, and im talking on paper, where they are most hyped.
Centerbacks playing fullback, therefore no overlaps, less speed and worse in transitions.
No real holding midfielder really either.
Then again, this group overall doesnt really stand out anyway.
Indeed dani. Dembele's form has fallen. Not taking Naingollan is probably a mistake. Over-reliance on Hazard. They could/should make it out of their group but I can't see them going past the second round. For all Portugal's criticisms I feel the battle hardened Portuguese who usually over-perform in tournaments will easily get the better of them.
Re: World Cup: Group H discussion
Time for Hazard to deliver. Pretty much every star player (Benzema, Oscar, Neymar, Messi, Robben, Sanchez, Dempsey, Balotelli, Pirlo, Robben, RVP) apart from Yaya, Iniesta, Rooney and Ronaldo has delivered. Time for him to announce himself on the World stage in front of millions of viewers and ascend into superstardom.
No excuses whatsoever. Easy group, excellent teammates and 100% fit. About time for him to answer his critics and live up to the hype.

Re: World Cup: Group H discussion
I think it looks like this:
Not 100% sure though. To me, on paper, they are a top 5 team at the tournament. We'll see if they deliver.
Courtois
Vertonghen - van Buyten - Kompany - Alderweireld
Witsel - Dembele
Mirallas - Fellaini - Hazard
Lukaku
