Interesting group. The fight between Ivory Coast and Japan could easily go either way.

I think Japan will progress. They have shown what they can in recent tournaments....

Which is why I think this is one of the toughest groups in the tournament. It's gonna be a tough one for us but I have faith this team can pull through.

I think this is one of the most balanced groups, quality wise. Wouldn't count out Greece's stubborn defense and Japan's attacking game.

Anybody putting their hope in the ivory coast are going to be disappointed.
A bunch of stars playing by themselves, almost never as a team.
Good enough to get you to a tournament, but not good enough to ever do good at one.
Colombia and Japan are my picks.

Ivory Coast have the most big names, but I dunno... they're also kinda old. Stacked in strikers, though, and that's what often counts in these tournaments.
Japan may surprise, too... I dunno, like it's been said, an interesting group. Lacks a big name, but we've got four teams here who will all fancy their chances. Promises to be one of the most hard-fought groups and really looking forward to this one.

Re: World Cup: Group C discussion
Awful year for Muriel.
His poor league played (just 4 goals scored) cost him the World Cup despite there was a free place for Falcao's injury
But it's right decision , for me Muriel was the flop of the Serie A 2013/2014, considering also the expectations on him.

So chatz or what?
Also, hoping for a Greek victory. Clombia have firepower but Greeks can wall Colombia, methinks. One other hope I have to that the ref doesn't influence the score as the refereeing in the WC, thus far, has been atrocious.

Re: World Cup: Group C discussion
Japan will be my second team outside of both my nations as sunce Zaccheroni's reign I've reached an incremental respect for their players, philosophy and the aesthetic of how they play. Hope they go far.
Russia another I suppose as Capello's lightning counter attack side cannot be underestimated and Capello succeeding anywhere is fantastic for us followers of him.
Edit: Greece is one as well as I've long been a symphathizer of their cause and hold great admiration for the characteristics of their players and people.

Ah Mods. Oh well....
Jackson Martinez starting over Bacca makes sense to me. Martinez offers much more bite to Colombia's Attack.

I'm a fan of Capello's Russia. Heck even if Capello leaves I'd watch Russia. Really like their League too. Following CSKA Moskva opened my eyes to Russian Football.
