Part of me wants Portugal to go through so Argentina can meet Portugal in the quarters. The loser will be shamed for ever.

Re: World Cup: Group G discussion
Almost every decision Klinsmann has made so far has been a good one.
Hopefully he is smart enough to bench bradley next game and start Mix. Bradleys give aways will be an automatic loss. Mix is a more dynamic playmaker as well.
And Omar ****ing Gonzalez. He can't even help this team's defense for 5 ****ing minutes. He's on for 4 and we concede. Even when he comes on as the 5th defender he just contaminates everyone else with his awfulness. What a garbage footballer he is.

Re: World Cup: Group G discussion
Anyone who thinks Germany will destroy USA is delusional.
Firstly surely we have learnt by now more USA are not a team easily destroyed.... but ignoring that do you really think Germany are going to risk waking Portugal from the dead and risk them knocking them out in the KOs.
Not in a million years, the minute they get a 2 goal led they will shut the game down.... Portugal are down and Germany will make sure they stay there.

CR7 fansite LOL.com has their priorities right again - it wasn't Varela's goal that saved Portugal, it was CR7's assist:

Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:No one outside some patriotic Americans and Ghanians would have thought Portugal would have gone out in the group stage.
You are mistaken there - I am no patriotic american - (since I am a legal alien in this country and therefore NOT american) although I did believe that this US team is the best team they ever had in a WC and that they do have a fair chance to make it into the knock-outs and I even had the slight fear they might be able to beat Germany.
The second I had to rethink and retract that thought after the demolishion of Portugal by Germany - but I never had a doubt that the US is perfectly capable to move on beyond the group stage.
And after their appearances in their first two games I have even more respect and believe that they will advance.
Great team with great morale and great spirit!
Please refrain from beating Germany in the last game or I will have to swap my side for good
EDIT: TYPO

Tom
Pepe won't let Ghana batter them so USA are basically through.

It was a beautiful cross to verala tho, it's the only real input cr7 put in all game. But that being said, verala did an amazing job of finishing it.

so he did excatly ONE thing right after 94 minutes...
great perfomance... !
and frankly he is not as handsome anymore - don't know what it is, yet he appears "fake" or in a weird way artificial...
I won't "cry" if he shares a plane with Torres (who has lost Sex appeal big time since I last saw him in a WC)

CR7 is always so wasteful. 62 shots that only yielded two goals
@Zizou
I never found CR7 attractive anyway. Totally not my type. ^^

They are obviously going with the big name but let's be honest, that "assist" was a stunner, the header not so much.
Talking about ronaldo I have some sympathy for him. First game played most of it with a red card against a far better team. Second game shows a flash of genius to create a goal whilst playing through an injury problem. Whilst his team is having a total shocker for fvck sake, when you add all those things up I can't be bothered criticizing him.

Re: World Cup: Group G discussion
USA were brilliant, fair play.
What was Bradley thinking at the end turn around and boot the ball upfield rather than dillydally with it and lose posession.
That cross from CR
What a match.
USA still in a good position to advance.
Portugal as good as out.

can't imagine that either.
If it is a draw then 2-2 or even 3-3.
As far as I remember Germany did have some trouble in their second pre round game throughout the last WCs/ECs (?) not 100% sure though - yet, I thought (my bad) that the USA would be their second game NOT Ghana - obv. that's where my brain did make the (faulty!) connection, that Germany might loose to the US.
It is going to be very exciting!
Right now I am more hopeing than I am actually convinced - that germany will be able to grind out a win.
