Well I know the reason, he's good at building the team, instilling a style of play, and refining their technique.
He does, however, utterly suck at tactics, sadly.
So true. BTW Germany has the maximum number of managers at WC 2014 of any nation - four.
Ohh, interesting, who are the one?

By the way, Manuel Neuer is back to proper GK training as of today. It is still undecided whether he or Roman Weidenfeller will be between the sticks for the Portugal group match, though.
Both Goalkeepers are a fine choice imo. Although if Neuer is really capable of 100% performance "body and healthwise" I'd slightly prefere to see him.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry much either if Weide has to guard the goal. I would worry a bit, if Ron-Robert Zieler had to be be put between the posts, though. ^^

That was BILD who speculated. Just wait until Jogi announced what he really plans.

Im personally hoping Germany destroy the group stages. If they finish 2nd they might see Argentina in the QF and that just brings back bad memories.

Germany has to either top the group or fail to get out. No 2nd place finish pleaseeeee. Meeting the Germans in the quarter final is that godaamn jinx. and we always fall for it.

Re: World Cup: Group G discussion
Honestly that looks pretty good, Özil has performed in that position several times before and in that way you integrate Kroos who's been in awesome form without losing defensive stability with Lahm/Khedira while Müller/Poldi/Kroos offer goalscoring threat. If there was a german Javi Martinez instead of Lahm that would've been perfect but oh well.

Ozil have performed in that role? may be against scrubs i dont recall any big games with RM or Arsenal.
Re: World Cup: Group G discussion
Lahm has been great as a midfielder, but they should go with this instead:
Just IMO, but I don't want Germany to go anywhere so meh.
Boateng - Mertesacker - Hummels - Howedes
Lahm - Kroos
Podolski - Ozil - Schurrle
Muller
Lahm - Kroos
Podolski - Ozil - Schurrle
Muller

Plus you don't even need all that chicanery if Schweinsteiger gets properly fit.

Re: World Cup: Group G discussion
If Ghana didn't have such a shitty defense I'd fancy them against the Germans. That pivot of Kroos and whoever they pair him with would get horribly exposed against their forwards.
Kroos is just far too positionally undisciplined and unathletic to ever be reliable in that role for me. He should be played at #10 and nowhere else against any competent team.

Understand what you all say but Germany are one of our major traditional rivals and since they knocked us out in two consecutive world cups this time if we meet it's got to be our turn to knock them out. We can't adopt a small team who's scared of them attitude.
Re: World Cup: Group G discussion
If Germany goes 1st then they and Brazil would face each other before the final. Win-win for Argentina. Also rooting for Spain to finish 2nd for this reason. To win you have to beat the best, but I wouldn't mind seeing the best knock each other out first

Re: World Cup: Group G discussion
Watching Portugal they look absolutely lethal on counters even without Ronaldo .Great pace all over the XI
Can see them beating Germany in 1st game if Low tries to play possesion tiki taka with False 9.

Portugal do look good with their passing specially and mainly it looks like their attacking is not entirely focused through Ronaldo. If Jogi doesnt get it right, we are screwed against Portugal
