According to most people, Ibra, C.Ronaldo and Suarez have been the best players this season. So I wonder, Messi is having a very similiar season in terms of number and yet he is not even top 10. Why is that? Is it because a world class season from C.Ronaldo, Ibra and Suarez is only a shit season for Messi? And yet there are some who don't aknowledge that Messi ain't he best

And lol at Messi being the worst in the Barça team. Pedro, Song, basically all the defenders, Xavi, Fabregas, Iniesta(he only had a good spell from the Man City til the first leg against Atletico, apart from that Messi has been superior) and Pinto...

The only bad thing about Messi atm is that he is really lazy, but that's it. He was probably our best player against Granada..

Di Maria carries the ball better than Messi. Not as Technical as Messi but certainly much faster with the ball on him as he dribbles.

Messi, Ronaldo, Ibra, Suarez, Ozil, Robben, Ribery, Gotze, Aguero, Reus. Theres 10 attacking players I came up with in 20 seconds that I would take over Di Maria. He has some brilliant moments yes, but hes getting way too much hype, and is not even a Top 10 attacking player much less overall.

And yes, I would take Ozil over Di Maria. Ozil wouldnt have created that goal like Di Maria did, he probably wouldve created one earlier for Ronaldo to pounce on.

Di Maria is probably the most inform player at the moment. He was Real Madrid best player against us in the Bernabeu and the cup and last night and was quite good against Bayern, IIRC,..

Edit: btw, does Di Maria have a posibility to win a ballon d'or this year? I mean, if he wins the WC while being the best or 2nd best player, how big are his chances?

he would need real madrid to campaign for him. Winning the golden ball is like running a political campaign, he will need everyone to pull in his direction and to remind everyone how amazing of a year he has had, specially in CL, and if he keeps it up in Brazil.

Ballon d'or? There's no way he's good enough to win that. Di Maria's a good player, but he's not elite or anything. He made some good dribbles etc, but he put in a lot of pointless crosses too. Although that was probably more of a tactical thing asked by Ancelotti to break down their defense. Either way he's a good player, but he's definitely not Ballon d'or worthy.

Di Maria has no chance in the media, now like said above if madrid campaign for him then maybe, but that'd interfere with Ronaldo's campaign

Also i disagree that this season has impacted Messi's image.

If he wins the WC no matter how great the performance, everyone will quickly ignore it.

The thing writes itself... "Messi goes into Argentina's rivals backyard and wins the first major trophy since Maradona inspired 86 with a scrub defense"

Kinda like R9 won it when he was injured all season, everyone will just ignore what happened before and we'll be overthrown with hype.
