Is Di Maria a top 10 player?

talking about players that impact the game in every way regardless of the position they play, and who perform at a rather high level.

For example, Di Maria's impact on the pitch is greater than what someone like Mata, who is limited in all defensive aspects.

The background is the level he was on for the past 3 years under mou, becoming a top winger, surely perfectible, but top nonetheless. This season it seems like he has brought a new dimension to his game as well, not just technically or tactically, but mentally.

He has scored his fair share of important goals this season for us, performs in every competition and plays big in big moments. His impact helping out offense and defense is clearly notable. I mentioned he was a mentally tough guy after a tough start of the season, he kept at it and he is getting his dues. Stats wise, he is doing just fine, his versatility makes him reliable in multiple areas of the pitch, infinite stamina, his crossing game is just fantastic, and his quality playing through balls as well.

Not sure how many players around are as well rounded both side of the game, which is important, and still with so much technical quality

he used to lack brain, but it's gotten so much more better. The overall product now far outweigths the errors in decision making, that's basically what i am asking. Has his overall product become good enough to be talked in those ways.

There is too much focus on attacking players because they contribute to scoring but little is said when they dont help their teams protect the advantage they have. That's why i made a point talking about his ability to play both ways, forward and back. It's simply too important, and time and time again, players that make the difference in big games, are that kind of players.

I wouldn't say when Barca wins though, just on a few occasions i watch them.... i haven't seen anywhere near all their wins.

He literally still makes the poor decision most of the time, he plays with one foot to a point where he only uses his other leg because of its natural bodily function and since he uses one foot for everything, his dribbling can be neutralised by teams who know how to defend.

But yeah, he has been a "top 10" performer this season. Kudos to him...

love this player. so much technique, so much heart. has also cut down a lot on the headless chicken decision making. as a juve fan he reminds me of nedved a bit. messi could do well to learn some character from fideo, the lazy bastard

So probably just a bit off still, but very close. Ive always liked him a lot and one of my favourite players but hes needed time to mature and improve his final product and consistently. I think hes worked his a$$ off and being in and out, playhing in different positions, and proved hes always hungry, so he fully deserves it and if continue he will likely to be up there. Hope he performs well for Argentina in the WC as well.

just no. Still, it's hard to say if he's top 10. At the moment he's our 3rd best player. But at the same time Marcelo on top form is better than him for me. You also have Ozil who's better overall, but his mentality leaves a lot of desire. Many top 10 rankings lack defenders. Thiago Silva is a top 10 player. Suarez and Ibra are 3rd and 4th best players in the world. All in all, it's hard to make a top 10 since there are many things to take into consideration. The better question imo would be 'is Di Maria one of the 10 most dangerous players in the world' ?

Yea agreed. top 10 is very vague and subjective one. And its different if we talknig about overall, ability wise, or on form or specifically at one thing, etc..... there are also many other players one could put instead of what I put, anyway, I think my point was clear.

Di maria is very likable person in his team. He doesnt make problems.does what coach says. I like him for that. Very shy guy never asks for anything works his ass of every game. Very underrated
