Ancelotti:
Possession vs possession, no more possession vs counter.
"I expect a Barcelona side with clear ideas and a philosophy they want to impose on the pitch & we want to do the same."
"The midfield is a very important area because if you control it, you have more chances of winning the match."
Possession vs possession, no more possession vs counter.

Re: El Clasico: Real Madrid vs Barcelona discussion
isnt this a league match thread, so why is it lying here in GS? I mean we do already have La Liga discussion thread. did suddenly rules change or something, which I have missed. I mean, another thread for any other league game (big stakes game) can be created in GS, if I get it right this time

Re: El Clasico: Real Madrid vs Barcelona discussion
Clasico is the best match there is, so it deserves a thread imo.

Re: El Clasico: Real Madrid vs Barcelona discussion
2 losses in 10 games for Barcelona, yeah what a game.
I am going to come with the best argument possible, when I create a thread next time for an EPL or BL match

It would probably get moved to its rightful thread.

Re: El Clasico: Real Madrid vs Barcelona discussion
Carlo Ancelotti has said his Real Madrid side will go on the front foot and take the game to Barcelona in tonight’s Clasico.
Madrid host Barca at Santiago Bernabeu this evening and would have a seven point lead over the champions if they came out on top.
Ancelotti told his pre-match Press conference that Madrid won’t play a cagey game.
“We’re very excited. We are going to try and do everything and play attacking football. We’ll attack and defend together,” Ancelotti said.
“In the first game we only played well for part of it. We’re going to need a solid 90 minutes this time.
“Both of these teams have players who can win matches on their own. The difference will be how hard each team works.
“It won’t come down to individual quality. The team that plays better will win the match.”
Ancelotti added that as this is only his second Clasico, he will look to the players for guidance on how to handle the big game.
“We’re going to prepare like we always do. I don’t need to say anything else to my players.
“They have more experience playing Barcelona than I do. We need to have a relaxed environment.”
Ancelotti was asked for his thoughts on the possible Barca line-up but replied he was only considering his side, not the opposition.
“I don’t care if they put in Pedro or Neymar, it doesn’t change anything for us. We know we have to play against a very strong team.
“Barcelona has a clear philosophy of how they want to play and that won’t change. But we will also seek to impose our philosophy.
“Midfield is a very important area. It’s where you can win the match. Barca’s midfielders have done well for some time but I believe the match will be won in midfield.
“We have to be careful about Lionel Messi and Neymar. It’s not about individuals but we have to work together to defend against them as a team.
“Cristiano [Ronaldo’s] form? He’s not in his best form of the season because he started the season in this form.
“He’s always the same, always at his best. He’s still playing at an incredible level.”
