Great win, meh performance...
Lucky Riether's an idiot and gifted us the win. Needed it badly with Spurs winning. They just won't go away ffs.

Throw in a goal and an assist and it's easy to see why he's the toast of the Kop tonight.
He's playing in a double pivot with Hendo with Cou the freedom to go forward, but Cou's playing quite deep himself.
Gerrard is reactive, not proactive in that role. Lucas should take over that "holding" role when he's back so we can go back to a 1-2 rather than a 2-1.

ExtremistEnigma wrote:Not really, Johnson has been awful for a couple of seasons now. Provides nothing special in the attack in spite of overlapping a hell lot of times and below average defensively. Flanagan/Wisdom and Kelly (before his injury) are cautious but atleast solid defensively.
Which is bullshit, with all due respect.
Johnson had a dip in form in the second half of last season, and that's about it.
He was arguably player of the season after Suarez before his dip in form last season, and there's no doubt his dip in form came because he was fatigued / burning out. That was his worst ever run in a Liverpool shirt. And he IS solid defensively.
He came back this season and started strongly. And then he played with injuries for months or so after he was rushed back from that United game because of our lack of depth. Can't wait for him to come back firing so get rid of this "he's on the decline" myth that's going around...

I don't see what's wrong with what his said, he acknowledged that it was a great win, but a shit performance, which is all true.

Re: Fulham v Liverpool
Gerrard's pass to Sturridge needs more recognition ffs. It's one thing to see the pass (there was a number of bodies in the way), but to execute it to that perfection, just wow.

Should come back into it soon.
And rightfully so. Kolo was never good enough to be first team / first back-up cover for a team pushing as high as we want to be. Glad people see it now.
Cissokho was the only defender that turned up last night to be fair. Skrtel had a poor game too I think.

He's studied the goalkeeper, which way he dives, so that professionalism is there. There's no better person to take a penalty right at the end to win you the game."
Not sure if BR is taking the piss here or not. Was Suarez' challenge (had his eyes on the ball, clearly an accident and I'm certain Luis would of seen him straight away being ex-teammates and all) concussing Sketelenburg a plan to get Stockdale onto the pitch just in case we won a last minute penalty?

Not to mention Gerrard got it wrong... The keeper went the right way, he just beat him anyway. Would be a bit strange if he studied the keeper, knew which way he was going to dive, and went that way anyway.
