Bias aside, Torres is done at big teams. There will be things he won't lose and that he hasn't lost like his technique and his movement to a degree but he lost that Suarez-esque killer instinct, I think Chelsea fans will back me up on this.

Look at them statistically over 90 mins. There's just no comparison, and I hate having to use stats to back up my points but, really, I feel people are being fickle just because it's Giroud.

I like Giroud and I acknowledge that we definitely need someone better to play/compete with him but Torres, really? You're having a laugh.

He is so poor, he'd miss most of those. He is terrible, you wouldn't want him at all. I'd take Giroud over him any day of the week.

Except that we don't create million chances, this isn't Cesc era anymore... I don't think we're even in the top 4 in England in chances created let alone Europe. Nowadays we're a fairly clinical team.

We need a striker, everyone knows that. But we're acting so desperate that we'd take in a player who is most certainly past it. Mourinho has tried to reinvent him but what's done is done. He turns 30 tomorrow and has been in this funk for almost three years now.

And bringing RVP back? There are better options, put the principle aside. He turns 31, is showing his injury prone side again and is on astronomical wages. Not interested and I'm glad Wenger reportedly isn't either.

We should invest in younger options even if we have to pay a bit over the top. Ideally, Costa, Dzeko and Mandzu are being looked at. They're all similar and would all upgrade Giroud (not sure about Mandzu though, he looks very good but it would be hard not to with his supporting cast.)

Its funny we are talking about top strikers to buy in the summer, knowing Wenger he has no pressure to spend huge again. Wenger will wait until last day and might end up with Ba, Torres or another injured loan player from the Mars.  

Don’t expect Cavani, Falcao, Costa or Martinez to come to Arsenal. Chelsea will buy half of them and let Ba come to Arsenal and make Wenger happy.

nah we are going to try for a wc striker in the summer 100% we already tried last summer and were close, if we wanted remy we would have brought him in jan/last summer easy.

2-3 years ago i would have agreed with you as that was arsenals business plan, but right now the club simply has too much money to look at low quality options like remy.

Still wouldn't hurt to look at players like that.

Perhaps send Sanogo, Chuba out on loan, get Bendtner, Parl off the books, keep Giroud, bring in one big star forward like Costa, Mandzu, Dzeko and then sign a lower quality forward but one with a high ceiling as well, Michy Batshuayi, Remy (even though he's older).

End up with DC/MM/ED + Giroud + LR/MB. Great striking corps.

What you guys think of Alexis Sánchez? if somehow we can buy him. I have not seen much of him playing for Barcelona, but for Chile he has been great.

I mean as a last resort if worse came to worse then they can play there. We can't have more than two established strikers in our squad, we are not Chelsea or City.
