Arsenal resurrect Alvaro Morata transfer bid after failing to land the Real Madrid striker in January
Youngster is open to leaving Spanish giants for more playing time but the price could be £15million and the option to buy him back after two seasons
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-transfers-alvaro-morata-pursuit-3192889#ixzz2uf9CMba1
what a Joke
stay away Arsenal
we should do better

so what happens when you dont have that mesut opportunity like the last summer? you would rather your club executives do nothing and end up holding their d*cks?

He isn't complaining about getting Morata nick, his issue is the bit where it says Madrid can buy Morata back for 15m in 2 years.

No
a lot of things can change
our success on the pitch can strengthen our stance
our options were always going to be limited
\
although as i said before would prefer we go for different type of striker overall
but lets see what happens
Beggars cant be choosers and such ha

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
There will be players available in summer who could be much better than Morata. If no one then we can always go for Carlos Vela again. I dont know if he would want that but he is a target. Now dont get me wrong, i like Morata but we should get someone who is better than Giroud or someone who can challenge him.Mr Nick09 wrote:Sina, i have a question for you? He does for 3.5m but he has stated he doesn't want to return to PL and enjoys it in La Liga so there is no point in that.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
We've got a £4mil buyback on Vela or something ridiculously low like that, but it's best to drop any fantasy of him returning. He's not interested in coming back and is very happy in Sociedad, as he's stated many times. Besides, he's more of a wide forward/winger than a striker these days.
We all want the big, established name but even if we can't get them, I'm more than fine with someone who fits the way the play and offers something different to Giroud; somebody with more mobility and perhaps a more clinical streak in front of goal.
The way we play means there is less emphasis on one striker scoring as you expect the likes of Walcott, Podolski, Cazorla and now Ramsey to bag a lot of goals between them, and it's no coincidence that our scoring ability has been hindered by those four spending long periods out the team through injury. With those guys plus Ozil, we don't necessarily need that big name striker.

Don't think it's ever possible, his wage after tax at Monaco would force us to break our bank left and right. In term of world class strikers, call me crazy but aside from RVP, Costa is probably the "easiest" target in the summer mostly due to seller club. As for youngsters, there are always Balo & SES who anyone could swoop up if the price is right and of course Draxler.

They are not but Wenger has fetish to convert player position, been doing it for quite sometimes. Draxler has it in him to be someone similar to RVP type. As for SES like Jay mentioned, someone different to "fill in & play with Giroud" Wenger words, not mine.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
you guys need to stop imagining those weird change of positions, it's fifaesque really. Draxler is not a CF, he is a AM, who is already voicing his opinion about not liking playing on the wing. he wants to be behind the CF because playing CF is damn hard, it's a specially. we take it for granted when some players can do many things but it's damn hard.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
That's the most logical explaination for Draxler saga though, Arsenal did indeed table an offer. Very hard to imagine how Wenger would be interested in bringing Draxler in to play as AM while Mesut ans Santi are still here. Either converted to CF or replace Lukas in the summer. We are talking about a manager who see Ox as CM while most of his good performance have been from the wings.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
yeah, when you go on to win things playing chambo at CM we will talk about it. Podolski is not very good, so it would make sense that Wenger want to replace him. Draxler is also a scoring threat from a wide position.... and beyond all that, he is said to be a great talent, so why not stack them up.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Draxler is a great prospect. He's also great at AM - I can't recall off the top of my head but didn't he even go through his best scoring stretch while playing as a central attacking midfielder? Even so ... there's no way he's coming in to bench Özil (or Cazorla) at AM. Maybe if Wilshere & Rosicky were all we had to play there, we could see it. But not when you have elite ballers like the German and the Spaniard.
I can envision Wenger converting Draxler to CF but let's remember that such conversions usually take plenty of time. I would be flabbergasted if Arsenal signed Drax for tons of money and then immediately started playing him up top as competition for Giroud. But it is much more believable if we imagine Wenger signing Draxler more as a replacement for Podolski on the left wing, and with a long-term plan to convert Draxler into a central attacker. I mean over the course of 2-3 seasons, or more.
All just hypotheticals, of course.
Also, Ox does all right at CM, I think ...

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
We won't sign an already made top striker because top strikers go in premium prices. For example Diego Costa is available in the summer but it's not us who'll sign him because of his high release clause... it's Chelsea who'll sign him. We could've signed Higuain but thought he was too expensive, we could've signed Edinson Cavani before PSG did but again his release clause was too high for us. You see the trend?
So we might aswell settle with Morata (or another young striker with high potential) who CAN BECOME a top striker and stop waiting until Wenger finds a striker who's not overpriced. It's almost 3 years since we've wanted a new striker for *bleep* sake.
