Yessss RG! I like Markovic a lot too.
I really hope Wenger is keeping an eye on him at least. His finishing and box play sometimes just seems so classy.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
La Gazzetta dello Sport apparently says Inter are interested in Podolski. I wonder if this is just the first of many stories linking him with a move elsewhere.
Podolski has an A+ attitude. As hot and cold as he can run from match to match, I love the guy. But it's hard to say that his role in the squad is commensurate with his roughly £100k/wk wages. And if Wenger's interest in the likes of Draxler, Griezmann, and other guys who often play on the left flank, is maintained, then there's even less of a future planned for Poldi at Arsenal.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Keep Podolski. I don't care who else we bring in.
Why do teams like Man United, City, Chelsea, and top teams in other leagues, get to have sooo many great players, even if they don't start regularly or hardly ever... Yet the minute even one player who is any good doesn't start every game every single week, its ohhh, welp they gotta leave!! They don't fit in!! FFS.. You need depth to win in these leagues. Keep him.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
I'm just trying to connect the dots ... prognosticating on what is likely to happen versus what we think should happen.
And if you have a player of Podolski's age and wages at basically any non-billionaire club, and if his match form is hit-or-miss, and if he seems to be hounded by persistent, nagging fitness issues ... well, I don't know if many other "top teams" that aren't bankrolled by oil are happy to keep on players like that.
Then when you consider how many players can occupy the same position as Podolski does for Arsenal (Gnabry or Ox, Cazorla, or some of the other AMs in a pinch), PLUS there have been confirmed bids for Draxler (who tends to play in the same position) and rumored interest in Griezmann (ditto) ... it just looks like it's all adding up to Podolski's departure soon enough.
Maybe he's going nowhere. I won't complain if he stays. I like the guy and when he's on form, he brings something valuable to the squad. It's just that there's a lot of circumstantial evidence pointing in the other direction.

I know, what sucks is that you are probably 100% right. I'd just hate to see the same cycle of podolski leaves we buy someone, then someone gets injured then we lack options yet again etc.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Bendtner unhappy with bit-part Arsenal role
Bendtner, speaking at Wembley ahead of Wednesday's friendly with England, says he is fit and ready to play a part in the title run-in.
"If you find a football player who says he is happy to sit and watch and not play then I think he needs to find another job," he told reporters.
"I want to play, there's no doubt in my mind. I'm ready, I'm fit, I'm training well. That I'm not selected is up to the manager, it's not up to me, if he then chooses differently then that's up to him."
Bendtner could come up against Gunners team-mates Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at Wembley, but he does not expect it to be too intense an encounter.
"Yeah it's going to be good fun," he added. "We'll see if we can joke around in the dressing room at half-time, maybe have a laugh about it.
"It's a friendly, there's not a lot at stake, I think a lot of players have played a lot of games ... so it's going to be a difficult game for us."

Deadwood 1st then Lukas, he would be the last one on the list and only sell if we desperately need money to fund someone else transfer. Seriously, there are half dozen players need to go before even consider Lukas sale.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Out of curiosity, what exactly do you all want in a forward to replace Giroud in the starting line-up? Do you want someone who's quicker and/or stronger, a more efficient goal threat, better at finding and exploiting space, or someone who is a bit more technical and able to participate in build up play?
Perhaps the answer isn't necessarily in a marquee name but in someone like Burak Yilmaz or Seydou Doumbia (bar injury issues) who may not be a massive overall upgrade but provides a big boost in specific qualities and a different option to be called upon depending on the opponents.

Not that it matters much since we have shit tons of CM but Cuadrado did decent job as CM or CAM few times in emergency situation, now if only he could fill in for DM

I'd like someone who could replace or play alongside Giroud. Someone a bit more dynamic maybe like Remy, I doubt many would be satisfied with just his signing though.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Bellerin will turn 19 in couple of weeks
a full season on loan at some decent team and he should be ready by 2015 hopefully
do we need to sign another young right back like Seb Jung then?
dilemma
===========
@Twoism i guess Cuadrado would be a lil bit expensive for being utility man

Atletico Madrid winger Arda 'wants to play for Wenger', says agent
"He is interested in working under Arsene Wenger and Arda would like to play in England," Ahmet Bulut is quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.
-----------------
I hope We are not after RVP, what scum player but Remy is a good option if he is going to replace Giroud. We need a wc striker and must do everything to buy one.
Giroud can become a model and bang all the girls he wants with out distracting the team.

The issue here is can Remy handle the expectation which comes with playing at a big club ?
Its easy to look good when you are a big fish in a small pond, example Ba, Poldi, Gervais etc. At this club its all about performing week in week out and turning up when it matters the most, is Remy really capable of doing that

So someone with a bit more technical ability on the ball and perhaps a bit more pace as well? Another Walcott type player, perhaps?

You kidding lol.... if Remy doesn't perform he gets called a rapist.
Don't confuse lack of trophies with no pressure the player's are under heaps of pressure every single week.
Perhaps far too much pressure for what we are capable of.... the reason Ba has struggled at Chelsea is the same reason every other striker has struggled at Chelsea.... its how they play strikers are just decoy's for the midfield.... even Drogba under Mourinho only scored 12 as his highest in a league campaign.
Has F all to do with pressure, although if you were to buy Remy don't be buying him as a CF lol.
He can't lead the line to save his life, but play him off the striker or on one of the wings(preferably the left as he loves the old cut in and shoot Henry trick lol) allowing him to run at defenses or in behind defenses which is what he's best at he will score at will.

The style/set-up you suggest seem very well suited to Giroud, doesn't it Mole? Or am I misunderstanding Giroud's strengths and/or your suggestion?
