Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
I don't know about Reus, at Werner's age (17) Reus was no where near as good but that could change quickly if his development stalls.
Also Werner is naturally a central striker and only plays on the wing because of Abdellaoue and Ibisevic. It just shows his versatility.

Godinson is suffering
#Free Cavani
by my calculation (if we assume its around £8M a year it would be around 150-160kpw surely we can afford to have 2-3 high earners around that
selling you dreams lol

Cavani has a big contract - rumoured to be between €8-10m (£6.6-8.3m) per year after tax

Cavani is pretty much my dream attack signing. (Outside of Messi, obvs.)

At this moment, Frazier Campbell would be an upgrade.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Cavani is a champ. But he'll never, ever play in an Arsenal shirt, sadly.
For wingers / wide forwards, I'd be very happy to see Draxler come of course. But I do hope that Arsenal are at least keeping tabs on the likes of Iturbe and Cuadrado.
You all see this goal from Cuadrado over the weekend?

Sina Moore looks like a beast and we shouldn't forget Bellerin.
Cuadrado replacing Sagna would be suicidal wouldn't mind him as a winger, my favourite will always remain Barcelona's Pedro though but I doubt Barcelona will sell him.

I also want him as winger only but got a feeling if it's a buy then he will be converted to fullback, you know how Wenger is. Gibbs got really solid this season so maybe there is a reason Wenger wants more advanced right back

I've definitely heard good things about Wengeris Afraud, the Slovenian-Basque wonderkid playmaker who has been plying his trade in the Greek second division. He's got tons of pace and a cultured left foot. Arsenal are reportedly scouting him and keen to sign him but they might get gazumped by Chelsea or Porto.

Not true, we're after his twin brother, Moylesis Afraud. Much better talent imo.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
If there's no "proven, top quality" forward available in the summer perhaps Arsenal will simply have to take a chance on one that's NOT proven. Nab someone who's shown glimpses of top ability but has gone "off the boil", or developing talent that may be on the cusp of really breaking through.
I still like Giroud as a player though, honestly. I think Arsenal's issues are coming from having too many static players operating in the area behind/around Giroud.

Sina, Keller just confirmed that Draxler has travelled with the squad and will be on the bench against Bayer. Another reason to watch that match

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
You can see why papers and Twitterers keep running with the Balotelli angle.
There's Puma, allegedly willing to help fund a deal to get two “brands” of theirs together.
Then there is the element of Wenger being able to tame and mold a crazy, undisciplined (but entertaining) player who is just set to enter his prime. And then Balotelli's problems with racist fans in Italy.
On top of that, it is probably the most expensive and marquee striker signing Arsenal could feasibly make this summer. (Jackson Martinez is a comparable option, cost-wise, but he doesn't have the name recognition.)
There may absolutely zero truth in any of it, but it's understandable why the story keeps popping up this season. There are so many angles that fit together circumstantially.

Balo has apparently told Fourfourtwo recently that he can see himself back in Premiership again(i havent read whole interview)
yet saw this bit online
. Speaking exclusively in the March 2014 issue of FourFourTwo, he says:
“I miss the fans. I’ll tell you what I don’t miss, though. I don’t miss the food, or the weather, or the stupid way you’re always expected to drive over there… But yeah, the City fans, I miss them. Even though the Milan fans are just as good.
“I have to say, most of my memories of Manchester are really happy ones. I enjoyed myself there. It wasn’t that much of a culture shock for me to go to England. There’s not a great deal of difference between the two clubs.”
Read more at http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/balotelli-what-do-i-miss-about-man-city-fans#spZz5Q5mX3WTEp8A.99
i have had my reservations but would take him if it was possible

RVP had big temper issues in '05 so much so that Feyenoord let him go for £2.5m. He had a rape case and plenty of controversy yet Wenger made a player of him.

You can't compare RVP level of craziness to that of Balo. At least RVP had some common sense, with Balotelli common sense just flies out of the window. The guy is a talented guy but he is a car crash, plus Wenger doesn't have the time to play Mr Psychologist anymore. Trophies to be won round here

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
at least Gibbs is going to get that #3 Shirt
actually flicking through Fiorentinas page on who scored
Cuadradu has only played right wing back in 3511(352)
which is what i saw him last season when an outside Cb could cover and leave him higher up
and winger or free attacking role when switching to back 4 [with Tomovic at right back]
energetic and good crosser
tends to over-dribble at times
dont know if he can ever be considered an option as RB for back 4
not that we are going to spend big for this position anyway
