Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Continuing my theme of obscure TV shows, I'm giving the 2nd season of Netflix's Hemlock Grove a watch....unlike the absolutely shit first season, this one is actually rather good. Still weird as all get out, but far more watchable. The acting is actually much better, especially from Bill Skarsgaard, who comes from a whole family of actors apparently that I've seen in various stuff.

I haven't posted in this thread before but thought I'd join in order to get some new suggestions for shows to watch.
I was looking through the recent pages but saw no mentions, has anyone else been watching Channel 4's Utopia?

I also watched the second season of Hemlock Grove. I'd never admit to it in real life but GL can keep a secret.

Watching Tyrant. Like it a lot so far.
Though Barry's wife has to be the most annoying woman in goddam television at the moment. Rivals Skylar in BB.

Downloaded the first 6 episodes of Tyrant. I'll give that a go as that's a lot more intriguing than the Strain for me.

Thank goodness I'm not the only person to have seen it! The 1st season was probably some of the weirdest chit I've ever layer eyes upon. Famke Jensen is one fine woman though

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Ehhh Famke's does indeed look good. Always has.
Found her more alluring in the Faculty though (despite her small part) than anything else I've seen her in. She also has the honor of being the first Bond girl I ever watched (Goldeneye was my first Bond movie). Dat scene with the ship's captain was tough to get out of my head at 8 years old

Ray Donovan. Awesome show.
Someone help me out, is The Good Wife worth it? I always fall asleep each time I try to complete the pilot. Finally completed it and now I can't make it through the first 5 mins of the second episode. Keep in mind I LOVE Scandal, House of Cards, Suits, etc and any other political/legal drama show. That's how I came across this suggestion. But.....it just looks boring

I really like The Good Wife. It's one of my favorite dramas right now but if you're struggling that badly it might not be for you. Give it a few more episodes though.

The Good Wife is on my filler show list along with Blue Bloods and Franklin & Bash.
Heard great things about it, but I'm in no hurry to binge watch it.

Legend of Korra this season is killing it. Thought previous seasons of Korra were great but never really consistently reached the heights of Avatar the Last Airbender. This season has been as good as anything in ALA for pretty much every episode. Highly recommended.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Just finished Power.
I thought this was a strong first season and was pleased to learn Starz renewed it immediately for a 2nd season. 50 Cent did really good work with this show. Gritty, decadent and seductive all at the same time. A rare combination that often doesn't come together well. Actors to watch in this one for me are Omari Hardwick as the main character and Naturi Naughton as his wife.
Highly recommended for those of you into the crime-drama genre give that one a try.
-------------------
I did give Tyrant a try and I like it overall. My one big problem with this show is the main character, Bassam, who is played with devoid blandness by Adam Raynor. You'd think a man with the stuff on his mind like Bassam would be far more emotionally investe. This guy just seems dazed, confused and utterly bland.
Beyond that, this isn't too bad of a show. I really like Jamal. What a sick puppy, he is.

Into the second season of Orange Is the New Black. Hooked again to the characters and drama of the prison
Thinking of starting Tyrant after this.
