As someone who has watched plenty of Aaron Lennon and Jesus Navas over the years, Deulofeu has more potential than both of them combined. That's not to say that they're bad players, just that calling him the new Aaron Lennon/Jesus Navas is far from the truth.

Comparing Jesus Navas to Deolofeu is disrespectful to a World Cup and Euro winner

Re: Deulofeu
I don't see the potential if I'm being honest here.
So far in his career he's been too one-dimensional, with his "fake a cross and run on the outside of the defender". Very similar style to Lennon/Navas. Just as a reminder that these two players were also considered 'top potential' at a young age.
Maybe he has shown that potential in his time in Barcelona, but that must've been 2-3 years ago and he has not improved much since then.

Re: Deulofeu
Deulofeu looks miles better then his first trip to Goodison 2 seasons ago...don't know how you can see he hasn't improved.
Him and Lukaku have a good understanding...but his decision making is still a bit suspect some times, but that is common in young players. He ain't no world beater but he will be miles better then Navas and Lennon if he peaks. He has a decent left foot should take more guys to the inside to progress his game.

Navas was never considered a top talent Urban. He was considered to be very good, but I don't remember people overrating him.

I completely agree with this. I even made the same Jesus Navas analogy when he was at Sevilla. He has more potential to be a goalscorer than Navas, not THAT 1-dimensional. But still 1-dimensional. I think he can be good Premier League midtable player.

Re: Deulofeu
He already has the technical skill, link up play, and dribbling (which I agree can be one-dimensional) that Lennon/Navas had at their peaks--at least on current form. Not to mention the boy can deliver better than either of them ever have.
And he's young yet. I understand the comparison (right footed player who plays on the right as a classic winger, they're rare these days so this comparison was inevitably going to happen) but if he fulfills his potential he'll be much better than either. Already a better goalscorer than both as well.

He's also been a lively player but his decision making is absolutely putrid. He's nowhere near as good technically as he thinks either.RealGunner wrote:looked lively tbh. Just not clinical
