Talksport: Arsenal and Chelsea want to poach Barcelona starlet Deulofeu

Barcelona are trying to fight off interest from Chelsea and Arsenal regarding the latest prospect from their famed La Masia academy - Gerard Deulofeu.
It is understood the youngster, already likened to Lionel Messi, has been earmarked for an appearance in the club’s senior squad for this season. But clubs in Europe are already circling, namely Chelsea and Arsenal.
Deulofeu, 17, is not allowed to sign a professional contract at the club until he turns 18 next March and Barcelona are mindful of interest from London.
Arsenal exploited the contractual issue with one of Barcelona’s stars when they signed Cesc Fabregas in 2003, when he was 16.
Deulofeu’s youth contract at Barcelona has two years to run and he has a buyout clause of £3m on his existing deal.
And Barcelona are already planning on drawing up terms for the Spaniard to sign as soon as he turns 18 as they are keen to avoid another Fabregas scenario.
Deulofeu was watched by Arsenal chief scout Steve Rowley this summer as he starred for Spain at the Under-19 Championship.

I'm talking about the slew of supposed talent that rots on our reserve team and bench, that are constantly loaned out or they never develop, who are payed on average much higher than the average youth player, later creating problems because we can't offload them. They also eat up our wage bill which should be focused on quality players and on VERY good prospects, not just anyone.

city and arsenal came for two of our youth players as well, we kick them away. shouldnt be that difficult for barca no?

In the end, its the kids choice, what can we do?
Overall though, I dont get why he would move to Arsenal.
To get playing time, doesnt he have toout jump Oxlade, Rio, Walcott and whoever else is coming through Arsenal's own ranks?
He is already closer then any other young forward we have to getting into the first team and plus we have always shown that we use youth players and they nearly always get playing time to prove themselves. Even when not good enough (i.e Victor Sanchez)
