He's not old

He's not demanding a team is built around him

It's not like the Bale scenario where his sale lets them re-build half a team. It's just Mata out, Willian in.

like i said, it's all about what the manager is willing to do with his team. We ONLY look at players, specially attacking ones, in terms of their attacking potential. We never think about how well they work off the ball yet it matters incredibly. You can try to build a team with specialists, guys that only defend and guys that only attack, but you are not gonna win anything.

Looking to build a side where all players are willing to sacrifice on both ends, even if that means selling one of your top players is not an heresy to me. it serves a greater purpose long term.

I wouldn't resent Suarez for going abroad if this were to happen, and I know Liverpool is going to reject the bid/have the ability to, and I understand how business is conducted...

But this is OBNOXIOUS. Suarez came out about them in June, the club made comments about every player having his price, and RM explicitly denied any contact at all. Quotes directly and indirectly from the club made it clear that they were pursuing Bale, not Suarez, and that they weren't interested. And they wait until August 22 to make a bid??? Talk about cheeky. After everything that's been said over the last few weeks, the only reason to make this bid is to unsettle the player, unless they're bidding well above value (the only way they could actually expect this to go through). And I don't even understand why they would want to do that; it's not like Liverpool is competing with them in any sense right now.

The only discernible reason is that they think Suarez will have better luck with management forcing his way to them than he did to Arsenal, and that they'll be able to get him at a cut rate. Then why didn't they make this bid three weeks ago, when things came to a head? No, instead they've waited until the very end of the window, when there's essentially 0% chance of this deal going through, when the only affect this bid will have is to anger Suarez and start another fight between him and the team. Talk about disrespectful.
