Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Sports, I think the idea is to give both a relatively free role, but with key caveats. Mainly that both Bale and Ronaldo use each other as reference points to determine their movement and role within any specific attack.
Off the ball Ronaldo is a CF, and on it, he makes having a CF fairly useless (unless that CF can do a range of specific things, I think aerial ability being the most important).
Ideally they switch sides and both provide width, I have no doubt that would be better for the team structurally. Anything that tempers their ability to cut in and shoot would. But that requires a certain frame of mind that I don't think Ronaldo has....and he's the one who has to give the OK.
There is potential for a team with structural balance, the potential lies in the qualities of the players.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Ah the hypothetical tactics that have no factual basis.
Benz stays right around the box like a SS. Yes he dezones; but the CBs have to pay attention which opens up space for CR7 to make his runs. That's the absolute key.
Rarely does CR7 make the "sacrifice runs" that CFs make to open up the middle. Bale has NEVER, EVER played CF in his entire life... so nothing there.
If you guys think that Bale and CR7 in the middle will work... then i just don't know One of them literally has to reinvent his game from scratch. The other (CR7) would need to sacrifice himself for the team. Honestly, do you really think the later has any chance of happening?

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Can we drop the fifa logic for a second, again you can't just throw players on the field and say be WC class we are madrid, never worked before and it wont this time either
Anyway we need a balance and ozil makes more sense to be sacrificed than benzema, so we gonna go 4-3-3 that seem likely to me

Couldn't we have just gone with this season with what we have and see what Carlo accomplishes instead of dishing 100 mil on someone we don't really need?Mr Nick09 wrote:can we actually wait to see wat carlo accimplishes wuth this team? lol

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Hearing there is no deal yet, very happy if we miss on this 100m deal.
He will be ruining 4 (Ozil, Benz, Jese, Morata) players future with us, and all of these players are like my favorite attackers right now, along with CR7.

Jese and Morata won't be affected that much either way.SuperMAG wrote:Hearing there is no deal yet, very happy if we miss on this 100m deal.

Benz and Ozil might be affected though and Ozil is more consistent than Benz which imo puts Karim on the chopping block. That's unless Benzema's protectors don't get involved.

How does signing Bale affect Modric's playing time? lolSuperMAG wrote:tbh all the players i mentened can be effected, including isco and modric, at least their playing time will be reduced.
Is Bale going to play regista at any stage of the season?

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
say ancellote drops modric for isco to find place for bale in attack, isnt that possible?
there are many formations ancellote can try to fit all these talents.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Put it this way... Bale's arrival could allow for a lot of tactical flexibility... Our biggest stumbling block last season...
We can move between 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3 to 4-2-2-2 to 4-3-2-1...
With Bale we have practically 3 options in every position at the top end of the pitch.
ST- Benz, Morata, Jese and even CR/bale
LW - CR, Bale, Jese, Özil
RW - Bale, di Maria, özil, isco
CAM/SS - Bale, Di Maria, Benz, Özil, Modric, Kaka, Isco
This allows for a lot of creative freedom and, given CR's natural tendency towards a free-role in attack, we could see him become even better... He would definitely become a lot harder to mark. And even if teams do double-mark him like they so love to... Then all the more space for the other goalscorers on the pitch...

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Bale not coming would be a spectacular failure for everyone involved (us, spuds and Bale himself). We probably have promised Bale to get him in Madrid, so not signing him now would not only be bad for Bale but it's not how a gentleman like Florentino operates. You think Spurs are signing players now because they feel like it?Swagg wrote:I'm waiting for dat vagi moment when the transfer doesn't happen
Perez could just go "lol jk we no want bale kthnxbai" and put Spurs in a really bad situation (spending 90 million, getting no money and having a player who probably hates the club he's working for atm). Trust me Spurs want to sell Bale now more than we actually want to buy him. Which is why this will go through 100%.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Well I wouldn't want us to just pull out and leave Spurs and Bale hanging for no reason.. I was just hoping Levy keeps playing hard ball and that's why we pull the offer off the table, or time runs out and the transfer window closes
I have nothing against him as a player, just don't want to pay a ridiculous amount for him

That's just it, there is no hard ball being played if anything the deal is done judging by Spurs' recent signingsSwagg wrote:Well I wouldn't want us to just pull out and leave Spurs and Bale hanging for no reason.. AS says we are keeping 60% of his rights, the most among all our players.
