notice how all he talks about is investments the dude doesn't give a flying banana about football but our marketing. he is just shoving players on Carlo and tells him to deal with it.
in an interview not so long ago carlo said the squad is complete and has not asked for any new signings. perez probably shredded the newspaper those quotes came in

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
I'll go against the grain and say if Bale comes he could put us over the top and where we want to be.
All of you are making waaay too many assumptions and forgetting waaay too many pieces of info.
1) Bale is a two time EPL player of the year. Do me a favour and check how many players in EPL history have won this award more than once. Remember Bale is still 23.
2) So far this summer we've pretty much broken even. Money coming in has matched money going out and our transfer budget is pretty much untouched which is why we're entertaining the inflated prices. We have money to burn guys and it's more than likely that the money we spend will make us more money further down the line. It's an investment and one worth taking a risk on.
So questions of player quality and price are if you ask me non-issues. The player himself is one of the best in the world, Zidane at least seems convinced, and the price is still within budget (Thanks Rafa lol) so the only issue that remains is where will he play? Well that will be Carlo's job, one he is used to. He's worked for Berlusconi, Abramovich, Al-Khalaifi etc very demanding guys and he's done a good job, so I have no doubt he'll be able to make Bale fit (and honestly all truely great players can be made to fit)
I won't mind if it doesn't happen but if it does I'll be more than happy with Bale.

Playing Bale centrally would almost certainly be better than playing CR centrally.halamadrid2 wrote:if we get bale I hope we go for the 4-2-3-1 with Ronaldo as the number 9Iker/Lopez

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
It is Sky Sports' understanding that Gareth Bale has reiterated his desire to leave to Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas. Publicly, Spurs' stance hasn't changed. Bale is not for sale as far as they are concerned.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Now that Perez has gone this far I am pretty sure Bale will be in. Perez is making EPL 2013-14 a hell of a season with spurring spurs to compete with Top 4 with at least 100 million+player and more players to sign.
EPL 2013-14 - will be one hell of a season. La Liga - we will see.

For anyone who's currently playing in the Europa League/not in Europe, I'm sure they'd consider going to Spurs.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
then dimaria is going to have to stay because he is better than the other options as rw and isco sits on the benchAlbiceleste wrote:Playing Bale centrally would almost certainly be better than playing CR centrally.halamadrid2 wrote:if we get bale I hope we go for the 4-2-3-1 with Ronaldo as the number 9Iker/Lopez

that formation is the only formation we can play that will see players in positions they might do good in and not some ozil on the wings bullshit

Arsenal fan - Money helps my friend. 100 million definitely does.
There are quality players in teams not playing in CL. I think AVB is a shrewd coach. He will make good use of money to improve the squad.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
If Benz is told he doesn't get first shot at starting at CF, he's gone. You can take him out of the depth chart. It'll be an immediate, and this time public, "it's time for me to leave Madrid".
He has no intention of being a rotation or bench player in a WC year.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
Ancelotti's latest press conference:
Also:
"It's difficuilt to talk about Bale because he doesn't play for Real Madrid. We'll see what happens, I'm happy with the squad.
"The club is looking for a solution in the case of Bale, but there's no news"
"Our goal is not to bring more players but make the most of this squad."
Also:
"Cristiano doesn't need to work hard in defense, he needs to be ready when the team has the ball."
Modric rumor isn't true. He's important for us.

Ancelotti doens't want Bale, he think the squad is perfect now. But Pérez wants Bale. Just listen to the coach Pérez! Listen to Ancelotti.

Real Madrid offered €70m and Coentrao for Bale, according to Sky Italia.
Spurs rejected it and want Di Maria or Modric instead of Coentrao.

Shock no one has wondered if Real Madrid would be taking out another loan for such a purchase. If I recall, the club took out a loan for the quarter billion purchases when Perez came back...

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
I really hope this deal doesn't go through- and I'm saying this just because of the price. $100 million on a player is just inflating the market. I thought cr7 deserved his transfer price bc it's Ronaldo, no doubt Bale is an excellent player and will only get better, but the guy plays in the same position as Ronaldo so that's not really helping the team really.

Re: Gareth Bale discussion
tell spurs go to hell
i wouldnt advise any young player to go to tottenham
i am really starting to hate that club.
know your place in club hierarchy, i'm not saying that they should sell to madrid for cheap because its a bigger club but they should know that institutional relationships need to be maintained. They anger players and clubs.
This stance that they have is almost like they see themselves equal in statue which is ludicrous. Holding a player for ransom, great business sense in present...

Tottenham is just trying in a nice way to say "eff off". Why the heck they should care about "club hierarchy"? You should be grateful for them since they are doing us a big favor by preventing Bale to come here. Unless you of course want to get rid of Benzema or either Özil because Isco, Ronaldo and Bale will start most of the time.

Apparently there's a verbal agreement for Bale to sign for €120m, according to AS.
